The name, The Raveonettes, is a direct reference to The Ronettes, and Buddy Holly's song Rave On!.
Their songs juxtapose the structural and chordal simplicity of 50s and 60s rock with intense electric instrumentation, driving beats and often dark lyrical content, similar to another of the band's influences, The Velvet Underground. Altogether, they sound very much like a slightly more melodic version of The Jesus and Mary Chain.

On April 4th, 2011, they released "Raven in the Grave", a nine-track studio album with Vice Records. It's their 5th studio album.
From their site bio:
“I think we have finally hit on something quite important and different for this album,” explains Sune. “This is the first Raveonettes album we've done which doesn't feature the signature Raveonettes surf drumbeat. None of the tunes have any real sunshine to them. It’s all very un-Rave.”
“It has a mood of ethereal defiance” Sharin adds. “It’s dark but not bleak, like the single minded determination caused by crisis that is not quite hope but just as powerful. It’s the perfect winter soundtrack just in time for spring”.

Ain't life fun, the little girl is dead
You're ain't broken down, you're ain't ???
You know everything, but you're nothing at all
Everytime I see you I get sick
Everytime I'm near you I get sick
Hard working man, all dressed in red
Ain't life fun, the little girl is dead
You're ain't broken down, you're ain't ???
You know everything, but you're nothing at all
Everytime I see you I get sick
Everytime I'm near you I get sick
I wanna leave you in this tooown
Everytime I see you I get sick
Everytime I'm near you I get sick
I wanna leave you in this tooown, tooown
The lyrics of The Raveonettes's song "I Get Sick" seem to describe a scenario where a hardworking man, who is all dressed in red, is responsible for the death of a little girl. The singer of the song appears to be disgusted by this man and cannot stand to be near him-- every time she sees him, she gets sick. The lyrics suggest that this man may be arrogant, thinking he knows everything, but in fact, is nothing at all. The singer wants to leave him and the town.
It's unclear what exactly the man in red did to the little girl, but the song hints at some sort of tragedy. It's also uncertain why the singer can't stand to be near him or what their relationship is. However, it's clear that the repeated use of the phrase "I get sick" is meant to emphasize just how repulsed she is by this man.
Overall, the lyrics create a haunting, unsettling atmosphere that leaves a lot of room for interpretation. The dark, moody tone of the song is characteristic of The Raveonettes's signature sound.
