The name, The Raveonettes, is a direct reference to The Ronettes, and Buddy Holly's song Rave On!.
Their songs juxtapose the structural and chordal simplicity of 50s and 60s rock with intense electric instrumentation, driving beats and often dark lyrical content, similar to another of the band's influences, The Velvet Underground. Altogether, they sound very much like a slightly more melodic version of The Jesus and Mary Chain.

On April 4th, 2011, they released "Raven in the Grave", a nine-track studio album with Vice Records. It's their 5th studio album.
From their site bio:
“I think we have finally hit on something quite important and different for this album,” explains Sune. “This is the first Raveonettes album we've done which doesn't feature the signature Raveonettes surf drumbeat. None of the tunes have any real sunshine to them. It’s all very un-Rave.”
“It has a mood of ethereal defiance” Sharin adds. “It’s dark but not bleak, like the single minded determination caused by crisis that is not quite hope but just as powerful. It’s the perfect winter soundtrack just in time for spring”.

How do you feel by the end of the day
Did you hurt someone who always loved you again
Did you cross the line did you stray yeah you did
What if you fell to a hell below
Do you think of death the same way I always do
What if you fell
What if you fell to a hell below
Would it hurt the same way you hurt me
I don't feel like going to the movies tonight
Why don't we stroll to the cemetery
To remind you where you'll end up if you fuck around again
I don't ever wanna see you again
The lyrics of The Raveonettes's A Hell Below express the singer's resentment towards their partner for hurting them repeatedly by crossing boundaries and cheating on them. The song starts with the singer envisioning their partner's guilt and regret as they cry with the lights out, wondering if they hurt someone who always loved them. The second verse reveals that the partner did indeed cross the line and cheat, leading the singer to contemplate whether their partner would think of death in the same dark way they always have if they fell to a hell below for their actions.
In the chorus, the singer poses a hypothetical question - what if their partner did fall to a hell below, would it hurt the same way they were hurt? This implies that the singer has been hurt deeply by their partner's actions and wishes for them to feel the same pain in return. The final verse shows the singer's bitterness and anger as they suggest going to the cemetery instead of watching a movie, reminding their partner where they'll end up if they cheat again. The song ends with the singer proclaiming that they never want to see their partner again.
Overall, A Hell Below is a song about the pain of being cheated on and the desire for justice and retribution. The lyrics suggest a deep-seated anger and resentment towards the partner who has hurt the singer, and a willingness to let them suffer the same emotional pain in return.
