The name, The Raveonettes, is a direct reference to The Ronettes, and Buddy Holly's song Rave On!.
Their songs juxtapose the structural and chordal simplicity of 50s and 60s rock with intense electric instrumentation, driving beats and often dark lyrical content, similar to another of the band's influences, The Velvet Underground. Altogether, they sound very much like a slightly more melodic version of The Jesus and Mary Chain.

On April 4th, 2011, they released "Raven in the Grave", a nine-track studio album with Vice Records. It's their 5th studio album.
From their site bio:
“I think we have finally hit on something quite important and different for this album,” explains Sune. “This is the first Raveonettes album we've done which doesn't feature the signature Raveonettes surf drumbeat. None of the tunes have any real sunshine to them. It’s all very un-Rave.”
“It has a mood of ethereal defiance” Sharin adds. “It’s dark but not bleak, like the single minded determination caused by crisis that is not quite hope but just as powerful. It’s the perfect winter soundtrack just in time for spring”.
Veronica Fever

Holding me down to that sultry sexy sound
Walking around with your whip right off the ground
Listen to her and she'll tell you what she found
You do it all the time
You do it all the time
You do it all the time yeah
Explosive smell when black leather comes to you
Beating that ass with the chain gang of love
You do it all the time
You do it all the time
You do it all the time come on
If you're looking for luxurious sexual attack
Red on black something's coming you know what I mean
You do it all the time
You do it all the time
You do it all the time come on
The Raveonettes' "Veronica Fever" is a dark and alluring tune that seems to be about a mysterious and seductive woman named Veronica. The song begins with the line "Talk of the town and you're always so around" which seems to suggest that Veronica is someone who is always present and intriguing to those around her. She holds the singer "down to that sultry, sexy sound" which could refer to her voice or perhaps her behavior.
The next line "Walking around with your whip right off the ground" adds to the mysterious and slightly dangerous vibe of the song. It implies that Veronica is a dominant figure, perhaps in a sexual way, and is always in control. The singer seems to be entranced by her and listens to her closely because "she'll tell you what she found".
The chorus repeats the phrase "You do it all the time" which could mean that Veronica is always exerting her power and influence on those around her. The lines "Explosive smell when black leather comes to you/Beating that ass with the chain gang of love" further reinforce the idea that Veronica is a dominant and slightly intimidating figure, and that the singer is both drawn to and somewhat intimidated by her.
Overall, "Veronica Fever" is a song that explores themes of power, seduction, and intrigue. It suggests that Veronica is a figure who is always present and in control, and that the singer is both drawn to and slightly intimidated by her.
