Trying not to notice me
I know your moves
As you float across the crowded room
You could be my love
Standing in the light
Waving to the people to save our life
I remember when she would always say
...
I like your look
The pretty California smile
I think of you
In the perfect summer sun dress
I've seen your face
In my head a million times a day
Its like a drug
Shooting through all of my veins
You could be my love
Standing in the light
Waving to the people to save our life
I remember when she would always say
Its better to be strangers than live this way
You could be my love
Standing in the light
Waving to the people to save our life
I remember when she would always say
Its better to be strangers than live this way
I still remember when
We would always say
Strangers make the best of friends
...
You could be my love
Standing in the light
Waving to the people to save our life
I remember when she would always say
Its better to be strangers than live this way
...
The Rebel Light's song "Strangers" describes the feeling of seeing someone across a crowded room and feeling a strong, almost magnetic pull towards them. The lyrics suggest that the singer has seen this person before and has been mesmerized by them, describing their look and demeanor in vivid detail. Despite this attraction, there is a sense of hesitation and uncertainty about whether to approach the person, as they might prefer to remain strangers rather than face the potential risks and challenges of taking things further.
The line "It's better to be strangers than live this way" suggests that the potential consequences of pursuing a relationship might be too high, and that there is something to be said for the excitement and mystery of being strangers. The idea of two strangers making the best of friends is also touched on, implying that a relationship could potentially develop over time.
Overall, the song captures the longing and excitement of new attraction while also acknowledging the potential pitfalls and uncertainties that come with it. It presents the idea that even though it can be tempting to take risks and pursue new connections, it's also important to be aware of the potential consequences and to approach things with caution.

Wow. I work out at 3 AM and heard this at the gym several times. I'm in my 50's and don't normally appreciate most music put out these days but this is a wonderful fusion of today and 50 years ago....same emo, an innocence that you don't normally see today, and a tune that carries in your head and you feel good. Thankyou!

Shout out to Birmingham Mountain Radio (107.3 FM) for playing this song on repeat, among other superb tunes, circa 2015-2017. Thanks for the memories and making those years unforgettable. If only we could all go back to that objectively better time.
