Art often thrives in the aftermath of adversity, and since we last heard from Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, there have been plenty of variables that the five-piece alternative rock act had to endure. But for the Middleburg, Florida-based band, hardships eventually ironed out thanks to unrelenting perseverance, paving the way for the band’s incredibly ambitious (and aptly titled) The Hell Or High Water EP, release August 24th, 2010.
The self-released project comes on the heels of the band’s voluntary parting of ways with Virgin Records, the company that first signed the band for 2006’s gold selling Don’t You Fake It (spawning the smash single “Face Down”), followed by 2009’s Lonely Road (which debuted in the top twenty of the Billboard 200), but eventually became more of an albatross than an anchor for the burgeoning band.
According to the Reap Song facts, the first single from The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus' third studio album, Am I the Enemy?, "Reap", was released via YouTube on March 24 2011, then for download a month later on April 26, 2011. The whole album was released on August 29, 2011.

I remember a year ago, I was standing in the crowd
Waiting for my chance to break through, my chance to live again
Now it seems I've found some friends who finally understand
What it takes to make this dream come true, we'll be here till the end
Shake it, break it, get off your feet
Shake it, break it, get off your feet
Get close to me and don't you fake it
Shout and scream my friends, connect with me and we'll pretend
This night will never end, this night will never end
Just let go you'll see together we'll do anything
This night will never end, this night will never end
Shake it, break it, get off your feet
Come dance with me and don't you fake it
Shake it, break it, get off your feet
Get close to me and don't you fake it
Oh, wish I could thank you all for what you have done
And all of the things that you have shared with me
Oh, wish I could take you all too where I must go
Wish I could take you all, I'll take you in my arms
Get on the floor
Get on the floor
Get on the floor
Get on the floor
Get on the floor
Shake it, break it, get off your feet
Come dance with me and don't you fake it
Shake it, break it, get off your feet
Get close to me and don't you fake it
I'm reachin' out here to show you
What we've been through
I think there's something we can share
That's completely new or maybe I'm just insane, whoa oh
Shake it, break it, get off your feet
The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus's song In Fate's Hands is a call to action for anyone who has ever yearned for something more in life. The lyrics open with the singer reminiscing about a year ago when he was just a face in the crowd, waiting for his chance to break through and live again. But now he's found some friends who understand what it takes to make dreams come true, and they'll be together until the end. The message here is clear: join us, take a chance, and don't let anything hold you back.
The chorus is an invitation to dance and let go of all inhibitions. Friends shout and scream as they connect on the dance floor, pretending that the night will never end. The second verse is a plea from the singer to show appreciation for his friends for what they've done and shared with him. He wishes he could take them all where he must go, and he'll take them all in his arms. The final chorus is a call to action: get on the floor and dance with all your heart. The singer is reaching out to show that there's something new they can share, and perhaps even create something that's completely new.
In Fate's Hands is an anthemic, hopeful song that connects with anyone who's ever felt lost, and reminds them that with a little determination and the right group of people, anything is possible.
