Comprised of the brothers Logan and Justin Baren and longtime friend Andrew Langer, they grew up in the same Deerfield neighborhood. The Redwalls brought on drummer Ben Greeno after their initial drummer, Jordan Kozer, decided to attend college at DePaul. They signed with Capitol Records in 2003 and released De Nova in June 2005. Their first single, "Thank You", was performed on Late Night with Conan O'Brien on June 21, 2005. They toured as support act for Oasis in summer of 2005, playing across europe alongside The Coral.
After a 2008 tour of europe, 2nd guitarist, Andrew Langer announced he was leaving the band to pursue his own musical opportunities.
They are composed of Logan Baren on vocals and guitar, Justin Baren on vocals and bass.
The Redwalls released their debut UK single "Memories" on January 5, 2009. Shortly after, drummer Rob Jensen announced his departure from the group to focus on other musical projects. Logan and Justin worked alongside The Zutons in Liverpool to begin work on a 4th studio album in 2009, the album was near completion but due to circumstances, the group ultimately disbanded in 2011.
In 2024, The Redwalls surprisingly announced a new album, "Number Four" via their social media. The album is said to be comprised of new and old material from their 4th studio album.

(Go speed racer, go speed racer)
You come around the bend you know you're doin' it fine
(Go speed racer, go speed racer)
Every time (something something), I want to make you mine
She comes around the bend about a quarter to three yeah
(Go speed racer, go speed racer)
Me
(Something)'s out of sight, I wanna do it tonight
Jump a little line, well
(So fine, so fine, so fine)
Jump a little time
When you (something) back, you be doin' it fine
Well you come around the bend about a quarter to three
(Go speed racer, go speed racer)
Well you come around the bend you know you do it for me
(Go speed racer, go speed racer)
Look (something)'s out of sight, what you doing tonight?
Jump a little line, well
(So fine, so fine, so fine)
Jump a little time
When it makes it back, you be doin' it fine
Go speed racer (x8)
In the song "Speed Racer" by The Redwalls, the lyrics depict the adrenaline-fueled excitement of watching a beloved Speed Racer-like character in a race. The song seems to be about a racer who is consistently doing well on the track- the lyrics mention that they come around the bend at a certain time, indicating that they have a predictably quick finish. The repetition of "go speed racer" emphasizes the excitement of watching this character in action. The chorus seems to express a romantic or sexual attraction to this speedy individual- the lyrics mention wanting to "make you mine" and "do it tonight". There is also mention of "jumping lines" and "time", which could be interpreted as a racing metaphor or a sexual innuendo.
