Romeo & Juliet
The Reflections Lyrics

(Ooh, ooh, oop)

Finding a job tomorrow morning
Got a little something I wanna do
Gonna buy (gonna buy) something I can ride in

A-take my girl datin' at the drive-in (take my girl)
Our love's gonna be written down in history
A-just like Romeo and Juliet
I'm gonna buy her pretty presents
Just like the ones in the catalog
Gonna show (gonna show) how much I lover her

Let her know that one way or the other (let her know)
Our love's gonna be written down in history
A-just like Romeo and Juliet

(Ooh, ooh, oop)
(Doo, doot, doot, doo-doop)

Just like Romeo and Juliet
A-just like Romeo and Juliet
A-just like Romeo and Juliet
Just like Romeo and Juliet

Talk about love and romance
Just wait 'til I get myself straight
I'm gonna put Romeo's fame right smack-dab on a date, ah

Alright now I'm speculatin'
Wonder what tomorrow's gonna really bring
Hey if I don't find work tomorrow
It's gonna be (gonna be) heartaches 'n' sorrow
Our love's gonna be destroyed like a tragedy
Just like Romeo and Juliet

(Ooh, ooh, oop)
(Doo, doot, doot, doo-doop)

Just like Romeo and Juliet
A-Just like Romeo and Juliet
A-Just like Romeo and Juliet
(Just like Romeo and Juliet)
(Just like Romeo and)

I was 10 years old when this song was released & I still luv it today. Kids listened to music at an early age when I was growing up with our transistor radios. We took our transistor radios everywhere including to bed. The Beatles & the British Invasion groups were also coming out during this timeframe & we were in heaven. An era never to be repeated. So much excitement, energy & even emotion in the ballads from the music in those days. None of that can be felt in the music today & of recent decades. There’s a few here & there they’ve given air play to that are really good over the past years but since they don’t promote music in the way it used to be on the radio, we’re severely lacking in that department. I don’t even know how many of these so-called singers & groups made the money they did as I don’t consider them talented at all.

The 60's and 70's are my favorite eras. I was a teenager in the 60's and the music was great! What they call music today is not music at all. Not much harmony or melody.

My FAVORITE song to play in while drivin' in my convertible with the top down, with a girlfriend on sunny Saturdays ...going to the beach or through the countryside!!!!! Thank you Reflections

Lots of history surrounding this recording. The original music was recorded at United Sound Studios in Detroit. It was first opened roughly 90 years ago and is still used to this day. It is a designated Michigan historical landmark. The vocals were recorded at RCA in Chicago. The finished product came from Golden World Studios in Detroit which was eventually purchased and used by Motown Records. Rumor says that several of the Funk Brothers played on the record.
