Throughout their career, The Riverdales stuck with an old-school punk sound very reminiscent of The Ramones. Both Vapid and Weasel perform lead vocals for the group, and songwriting credits are split evenly between the two.
The band takes its name from the fictional town of Riverdale, the setting of Archie Comics and home of fictional band The Archies.
The Riverdales' song "Back To You" appeared in the movie Angus in 1995[1].
In 2004 Ben Weasel rescinded all of the Screeching Weasel and Riverdales masters from Lookout! Records after being unable to resolve a breach of contract dispute over unpaid royalties with the label. All of these masters have since been licensed to Asian Man Records. Asian Man Records reissued the first Riverdales album in 2006[2]. The label also plans to reissue Phase Three.

give up
The lyrics to The Riverdale's song "Give It Up" are quite simple but packed with meaning. The repetitive lines of "give it up, you ain't got it" and "give up" seems to be a message to someone who is struggling to keep up with certain standards or expectations, and they need to realize that they may not have what it takes to achieve their goals. The song encourages the listener to stop trying to prove themselves and to instead embrace their limitations and move on.
The lyrics also hint at the possibility of success coming from letting go of unrealistic expectations and just enjoying the moment. The line "it's no big thing" suggests that what the person is chasing after may not be as important as it seems, and they should learn to relax and let things happen naturally. The upbeat tempo and catchy melody of the song reinforces this carefree attitude and encourages the listener to let go of their worries and enjoy life.
