It's All Over Now
The Rolling Stones Lyrics

She made me cry, she done me wrong
She hurt my eyes open, that's no lie
Tables turn and now her turn to cry
Because I used to love her, but it's all over now
Because I used to love her, but it's all over now
She spent all my money, playing her high class game
She put me out, it was a pity how I cried
Tables turn and now her turn to cry
Because I used to love her, but it's all over now
Because I used to love her, but it's all over now
Well, I used to wake in the morning, get my breakfast in bed
When I'd gotten worried she'd ease my aching head
But now she's here and there, with every man in town
Still trying to take me for that same old clown
Because I used to love her, but it's all over now
Because I used to love her, but it's all over now
Because I used to love her, but it's all over now
The Rolling Stones’ song “It’s All Over Now” tells the story of a relationship gone wrong. The singer is reminiscing about a girl with whom he used to be in love. However, she has hurt him in the past by staying out all night long and running around with every man in town. She spent all of his money playing her high-class games and even put him out on the streets. The singer was heartbroken and cried for her, but now the tables have turned, and it is her turn to feel the pain.
The main theme of the song is about the end of a relationship. The singer is looking back and realizing that although he used to love her, it is all over now. He used to wake up in the morning and have breakfast in bed, but now she is nowhere to be found when he needs her. She has moved on with other men, but is still trying to take him for a clown. The song’s message is a warning to anyone experiencing a rocky romantic relationship not to put up with mistreatment, and when enough is enough, it’s all over.

Ace guitar player Bobby Womack wrote " It's All Over Now" and did not want to give the song over to another artist. It was sometime in the early summer of 1964 that he was persuaded to do so by his management. It was particularly galling to Womack that the song went to one of those " pretty boy English groups" that were storming the US at that time. Well we all know that the Stones had a solid hit with the song and Bobby Wowmack calmed right down when he began recieving the royalty checks in the mail with all those 0's on them!!😊
