With breaking hearts and heart sick minds
As love it's gone
It's all the past
And bitter things
They erase and wash our memories
They dole with time
And if you give me something to hold to
Grab it please
I will give you a hand to guide you
If you lose the trail
And if you stay with me tonight
In dying winter light
I will swear I'll try to find that holy grail
I'm leaving soon still
I wish there was something you could do
To change my mind
And make me stay
These brittle things
They erase and wash our memories
They dole with time
And they fade away
So if you give me something to hold to
Grabbing me
I will give you a hand to guide you
If you lose the trail
And if you stay with me tonight
In dying winter light
I will swear I'll try to find that holy grail
So if you give me something to hold to
Grab it please
I will give you a hand to guide you
If you lose the trail
And if you stay with me tonight
In dying winter light
I will swear I'll try to find that holy grail
That holy grail
That holy grail
That holy grail
That holy
The lyrics of "Gravity" by The Rope convey a powerful message about the fleeting nature of time and the importance of holding onto moments that are meaningful. The opening lines, "Wounding time / With breaking hearts and heart sick minds / As love it's gone / It's all the past" suggest that time can be painful, especially when we lose something or someone we love. The following lines, "And bitter things / They erase and wash our memories / They dole with time / Oh they fade so fast" further emphasize the idea that time has a way of making things fade away.
The singer then pleads for something to hold onto, saying "And if you give me something to hold to / Grab it please / I will give you a hand to guide you / If you lose the trail." This shows that the singer recognizes the importance of not letting go of the things that matter. The chorus repeats this sentiment, promising to try to find the "holy grail" of what they are seeking, even as time seems to slip away.
