In mid-1977 the band moved to the UK, where it became apparent that they and their label had different ideas as to how they should be marketed. EMI planned to sell The Saints as a typical punk band complete with ripped clothes. The Saints insisted on wearing collared shirts and sweaters, and left their hair long. The original line-up consisted of vocalist Chris Bailey, guitarist Ed Kuepper and Ivor Hay on drums with Kym Bradshaw and later Algy Ward on bass.
Kuepper, Hay and Ward left the band in 1978, but Chris Bailey continued touring and recording as The Saints with a revolving line-up of musicians throughout the 80's including the late Janine Hall on bass. The Saints' commercial breakthrough into the US came in 1986 with the album "All Fools Day", with the video for "Just Like Fire Would" receiving airplay on MTV.
After releasing a couple of records under his own name, Bailey reformed The Saints in 1996. Once again without any of the other founding members but they have reunited occasionally to perform live. The Saints music could often be heard in the background during episodes of Neighbours in the 1990's!
The current line-up is:
Chris Bailey - Guitar and vocals
Caspar Wijnberg - Bass
Peter Wilkinson - Drums
Other bands:
2) A Reggae Band.
3) Polish klezmer band from Cracow.
4) Saints (sans The) is an experimental group from Goleta, CA.
5) '60s British band recorded by Joe Meek.
6) An American 60's uptown soul group.

Honey, running through the jungle after you
I'm like a wild man on a rampage
Yeah, I found the safari, babe, but where are you?
I feel like a horrible creature
But, honey, I don't want to scare you
Yeah, you look so good I could eat you
I'm wild about the way-out clothes you wear
Your pretty dresses, your teased-up hair
You laugh at me since I'm staring at you
Honey, laugh at me, but you're lovin' it too
'Cause you're wild and I'm wild about you
You're wild and I'm wild about you
Come on!
Oh baby, you're so wild
I'm gonna make you mine
I'm gonna comin' to getcha
Right now
You make me feel just like a savage
Baby, running through the jungle after you
I'm like a wild man on a rampage
Yeah, I found the safari, babe, but where are you?
I feel like a horrible creature
But honey, I don't want to scare you
Yeah, you look so good that I could eat you
But I won't kiss a steak so I won't eat you
I'm wild about the way-out clothes you wear
Your pretty dresses, your teased-up hair
You laugh at me since I'm staring at you
Honey, laugh at me, but you're lovin' it too
'Cause you're wild and I'm wild about you
You're wild and I'm wild about you
Come on!
Yes you're wild - but what can I do?
Yes you're wild - I can't stand it!
Yes you're wild - I'm goin' insane!
Yes you're wild!
The Saints's song Wild About You is a high-energy love song filled with animalistic imagery. The singer describes feeling like a wild man on a rampage, running through the jungle after his beloved. He feels like a horrible creature but is wild about the way his partner dresses and looks. The song is filled with contradictions, as the singer both wants to eat his partner and kiss her, but ultimately chooses the latter. The chorus repeats the phrase "You're wild and I'm wild about you," creating a sense of wild, passionate love.
The song speaks to a primal, animalistic desire for love and connection. The singer feels like a savage, but he is still able to recognize the loveliness of his partner. The use of animal imagery evokes a sense of raw, unbridled passion, and the repetitive structure of the song reinforces this frenzied feeling. The repetition of the chorus reinforces the idea that the singer is wild about his partner, and that their love is untamed and fierce.
Overall, Wild About You is a fun and energetic ode to the wildness of love. It speaks to the part of us that wants to be completely uninhibited, and allows us to revel in the passionate, animalistic side of our desires.
