Let me explain how I came across this. I heard Roberta Kelly's disco version from the 70s several months ago, and I thought it was her original tune, until tonight, when I came upon another (instrumental) version of it from the 60s by a group called The Soul Finders. So I'm thinking ok, who the heck actually did this tune first? I had to dig and dig through Willie Hutch Love Power search results (a totally unrelated tune that just happens to have the same title) until I finally found this one. At last! Thank you very much uploader.

Sometimes the best musical surprises lie patiently to be re-discovered. I remember hearing this uplifting song on the radio in Ottawa, Canada as a teen, when this was first released. Having just seen the revival of "The Color Purple" in Los Angeles, my mind was on the "power of love" and being reminded of the message of this outstanding recording by a Luther Vandross cover, I sought this out. Whoa...... what a surprise to see you have given it the extended treatment! Thank you!
