The band has continued to exist without breaking up since their formation, although the music has moved away from pure psychedelic rock into folk, rock, gospel and soul territories. Members have also changed. The marriage of Annisette and Thomas Koppel has been the core of the band through the years. Thomas Koppel died on February 25, 2006, but the band continued and has released the album "Universal Daughter" in 2007.

Sunday Morning
The Savage Rose Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
The air's breathing
Silently singing:
"Some got nothing
Some got plenty
Just take what you need
If you ain't got nothing"
The chimes are ringing
The night is over
It is Sunday Morning
I'll make me a knife
Long and sharp and red
I'll hold it here
To protect my life
Guess that's everybody's right
Yellow, black or white
To live without no fears
I'll make me a bed
Where I can rest my head
I'll take the time I need
Though I'm tired as hell
Guess that's everybody's right
Yellow, black or white
To have a place to sleep
The Savage Rose's "Sunday Morning" is a song about the struggles of life and the importance of basic human needs, such as food, shelter, and safety. The song starts off by describing the air as breathing and singing silently. It then goes on to say that some people have nothing, while others have plenty. The lyrics suggest that people should only take what they need if they are in a position of having nothing. The chimes are ringing, signifying the start of a new day. The night is over, and it is now Sunday morning, a symbolic day of rest.
The singer then speaks of making a knife to protect themselves, as it is their right to do so. The color of one's skin should not have any bearing on the right to live without fear. The lyrics suggest that everyone has the right to be safe and secure. The next verse talks about building a bed to rest one's head. Again, the singer emphasizes the universal right to have a place to sleep, regardless of one's skin color or economic status. The song encapsulates the struggles and basic human needs relevant to people across all walks of life around the globe.

Erzebet Tot Bagi Thank you for these lyrics; they are a bit nonsensical however. But the song really rocks out and I love this Group that I just discovered today listening to WMBR’s Lost and Found Program on Friday, January 10, 2020 hosted by Alex McNeil. WMBR is the MIT Massachusetts Institute of Technology radio station totally volunteer staffed, non-commercial. You can listen to any show such as this one on the archives for up to two weeks from the day it aired: on WMBR.org.
