It's time to change your mind
A storm closes around your world as it falls down
Your life does not have time
Nations all stand still, invade us all until the smoke begins to rise
Nations all stand still, invade us all until they feed us with their lies
We fear, we fear
It's only turbulence
People hide inside
the media to confide
The situation of hype
People hide inside
the media to confide
They give us a stereotype
But nations all stand still, invade us all until the smoke begins to rise
Nations all stand still, invade us all until they feed us with their lies

"One thing could we do - could we start arming the anti-government groups inside Iran. Could their cars start blowing up, like our humvees are blowing up? Maybe in Tehran so they won't be doing it in Baghdad. Let them create havoc inside Iran"

The Scholars' song "Turbulence" speaks on the issue of misinformation and the manipulation of the media during times of turmoil. The lyrics heavily imply a sense of unease and discomfort due to the chaos that arises from it all. The opening lines, "A storm closes around your world as it falls down / It's time to change your mind," indicates that the world may be in a state of turmoil, yet it's up to the individual to adjust their outlook to keep going. The lyrics also suggest that the media plays a significant role in influencing the public's opinion.
The writer also alludes to a possible conflict or invasion indicated by the line, "Nations all stand still, invade us all until the smoke begins to rise," creating a sense of foreboding. Additionally, the song delves into the notion of governments feeding us with lies and stereotypes, changing the meaning of events to suit their interests. The line, "People hide inside the media to confide / They give us a stereotype" highlights this. The song concludes by attempting to calm the listeners by stating, "It's only Turbulence now / there's no need to fear, we've seen it all before," reminding us that times of chaos and hardship are familiar, and the key to overcoming it is by staying informed and keeping our perspectives in check.

We accept that the video is not as slick as it could have been due to an imminent release date and a very tight timeline to shoot and cut the video. We do however think that Matt and Mike did a fantastic job with the video considering very limited time constraints. We hope you enjoyed it anyway.
