Talk You Down
The Script(kingdom music by markie b) Lyrics

I can feel the color running
As it's fading from my face
Try to speak but nothings coming
Nothing I could say to make you stay
Grabbed your suitcase called a taxi
It's 3am now where you gonna go?
Gonna stay with friends in London
And that's all I get to know

Just a cigarette gone
No you couldn't' be that far
So I'm driving in my car where I hope you are
Maybe I can talk you down
Maybe I can talk you down

We're standing on a tiny ledge
Before this goes over the edge
Gonna use my heart and not my head
And try to open up your eyes
This is relationship suicide

Cos if you go, I go

Taking shortcuts through the alleys
While your racing through my mind
Cops can chase but they wont catch me
Not before I get to speak my mind
If there's still time

Just a cigarette gone
No you couldn't be that far
So I'm driving in my car where I hope you are
Maybe I can talk you down
Maybe I can talk you down

We're standing on a tiny ledge
Before this goes over the edge
Gonna use my heart and not my head
And try to open up your eyes
This is relationship suicide

Cos if you go, I go
Cos if you go, I go
Cos if you go, I go
Cos if you go, I go

We're standing on a tiny ledge
Before this goes over the edge
Gonna use my heart and not my head

Just a cigarette gone
No you couldn't be that far
So I'm driving in my car where I hope you are
Maybe I can talk you down
Maybe I can turn around

We're standing on a tiny ledge
Before this goes over the edge
Gonna use my heart and not my head

And try to open up your eyes
This is relationship suicide

Overall Meaning

The Script's song Talk You Down describes a situation where a person's significant other is leaving them, and they are desperately trying to stop them from doing so. The opening lines "I can feel the color running, as it's fading from my face, try to speak but nothing's coming, nothing I could say to make you stay" set the tone for the song, as the singer is distressed and feels powerless. As their partner leaves, they are left feeling alone and abandoned. The phrase "Grabbed your suitcase called a taxi, it's 3 am, now where you gonna go? Gonna stay with friends in London, and that's all I get to know" implies a lack of communication and closure, as the singer is left wondering about their partner's plans and whereabouts.

The second half of the song has a more urgent tone, as the singer tries to find their partner before it is too late. The lines "Taking shortcuts through the alleys, while you're racing through my mind, cops can chase but they won't catch me, not before I get to speak my mind if there's still time" show the desperation of the situation. The chorus "We're standing on a tiny ledge before this goes over the edge, gonna use my heart and not my head, and try to open up your eyes, this is relationship suicide" implies that the relationship is on the brink of collapse, and the singer is willing to risk everything to save it. The song's title "Talk You Down" suggests that the singer is trying to calm their partner down and prevent them from leaving.

Overall, The Script's Talk You Down is a powerful and emotional song about the desperation of trying to save a failing relationship. The lyrics are full of vivid imagery and heartfelt emotions, making it a memorable and relatable song for anyone who has been through a breakup.

"Talk You Down"

I can feel the colour running
As it's fading from my face
Try to speak but nothing's coming
Nothing I could say to make you stay

Grabbed your suitcase, called a taxi
It's 3 AM, now where you gonna go?
Gonna stay with friends in London
And that's all I get to know

Just a cigarette gone
No, you couldn't' be that far
I'm driving my car to where I hope you are
Maybe I can talk you down
Maybe I can talk you down

Oh, we're standing on a tiny ledge
Before this goes over the edge
Gonna use my heart and not my head
And try to open up your eyes
This is relationship suicide

'Cause if you go, I go.
'Cause if you go, I go.

Taking shortcuts through the alleys
While you're racing through my mind
Cops can chase but they won't catch me
Not before I get to speak my mind
If there's still time

Just a cigarette gone
No, you couldn't be that far
I'm driving my car to where I hope you are
Maybe I can talk you down
Maybe I can talk you down

Oh, we're standing on a tiny ledge
Before this goes over the edge
Gonna use my heart and not my head
And try to open up your eyes
This is relationship suicide

'Cause if you go, I go.
'Cause if you go, I go.
'Cause if you go, I go.
'Cause if you go, I go.

We're standing on a tiny ledge
Before this goes over the edge
Gonna use my heart and not my head, oh.
We're standing on a tiny ledge
Before this goes over the edge
Gonna use my heart and not my head.

Just a cigarette gone
No, you couldn't be that far
I'm driving my car to where I hope you are
Maybe I can talk you down
Maybe I can talk you down

Oh, we're standing on a tiny ledge
Before this goes over the edge
Gonna use my heart and not my head
And try to open up your eyes
This is relationship suicide

'Cause if you go, I go.
'Cause if you go, I go.
'Cause if you go, I go.
'Cause if you go, I go."

The script, Coldplay, Jimmy Eat World, the All American Rejects, Paramore and Evanescence back in the days show me another world of music 🎶 I’ll always one of their prestigious fan. I had between 8 to 11 years since I be been listening their song. I am Haitian btw raised and born in my country, it’s not really our kind of music but I am so happy to know and feel these songs.
