The band released one album, Do It Yourself, in 1997 and began work on a follow up (with Mark Heany replacing Watts as drummer), before splitting up due to musical differences during recording sessions in January 1999. The second album was never officially released, although it later surfaced as a bootleg.
Squire went on to release two solo albums: Time Changes Everything (2002) and Marshall's House (2004) . Helme, meanwhile, went on to form The Yards, along with Fletcher, who also joined Rick Witter and the Dukes with the former Shed Seven frontman in 2005.

Happiness Is Eggshaped

And love's a circle with no end
It's only four o'clock in the morning
And you're still driving me 'round the bend
I'll tell you something, I'll tell you, it's true
I've got a letter to send to you
I'm gonna post from a fifth floor window
Yeah, yeah, crash it right down on your car
I don't know maybe then that'll teach you
Not to kiss the sky too hard
I'll tell you something, I'll tell you true
I've got a letter to send to you
You're too busy dreaming so what am I gonna do?
I got to get you right off from my back
'Cause you're no fun, girl
My whole world's turning black
'Cause you're no fun, girl
I know it's two sides to every story
You can keep your kiss of death
'Cause I choose glory, yeah
Happiness is eggshaped
And love's a circle with no end
It's only four o'clock in the morning
And you're still driving me 'round the bend
I'll tell you something, I'll tell you, it's true
I've got a letter to send to you
You're too busy dreaming so what am I gonna do?
I got to get you right off from my back
'Cause you're no fun, girl
My whole world's turning black
'Cause you're no fun, girl
I know it's two sides to every story
You can keep your kiss of death
'Cause I choose glory, yeah
The Seahorses' "Happiness Is Eggshaped" talks about the complexities of love and relationships. The singer describes "happiness" as being "egg-shaped," suggesting that it's not a straightforward emotion, but rather multi-faceted and complex, much like an egg. This sentiment is echoed in the line "love's a circle with no end," revealing that the singer believes that love is an eternal, unchanging force that never really ends, much like a circle.
Despite the romantic overtones of the first verse, the second verse has a different tone. Here, the singer's feeling of love and affection has turned to anger and frustration. The singer states that they have a letter to send to the person they're referring to in the song. They talk about spraying the message on a wall, which is an indication of their rage and desperation to communicate their feelings.
In the chorus, the singer circles back to the main theme of the song, describing the egg-shaped nature of happiness and the never-ending nature of love. However, in the third verse, the singer makes a decision to choose "glory" over the "kiss of death." This indicates that the singer is ready to move on from the relationship and find happiness elsewhere.
