The band released one album, Do It Yourself, in 1997 and began work on a follow up (with Mark Heany replacing Watts as drummer), before splitting up due to musical differences during recording sessions in January 1999. The second album was never officially released, although it later surfaced as a bootleg.
Squire went on to release two solo albums: Time Changes Everything (2002) and Marshall's House (2004) . Helme, meanwhile, went on to form The Yards, along with Fletcher, who also joined Rick Witter and the Dukes with the former Shed Seven frontman in 2005.

Hello
The Seahorses Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
And the thunder's filled my brain
Have I changed ? I'm asking you
All I know is the sun and it's shining
Way above my cloud so high it can't be found
We all look around
Oh well never mind, I'll take you there tomorrow
And I'm sorry if I seem to always vent my spleen
It's not the path I choose to follow
So hello
And I hope you're still my friend
I think I'm on the mend
And you know I don't mean to offend
I wish we all could fly
All I know is the sun and it's shining
Way above my cloud
So high it can't be found
The Seahorses's song 'Hello' explores the idea of change and the personal struggles that come alongside it. The lyrics "I know the wind and the rain and the lightning, and the thunder's filled my brain, Have I changed? I'm asking you", suggest that the songwriter (perhaps frontman Chris Helme), has been through a tumultuous time, experiencing the difficulties that come with change whilst questioning whether or not he has changed in the process.
However, the lyrics then move on to focus on the positivity and hope that can be found in life with lines such as "All I know is the sun and it's shining, way above my cloud so high it can't be found, We all look around". The songwriter is suggesting that despite the challenges of life, there is always hope and something positive to focus on.
The refrain of the song, "Hello, and I hope you're still my friend, I think I'm on the mend, And you know, I don't mean to offend", seems to be addressing a specific person, potentially a friend or loved one, who the songwriter may have had some tension or conflict with. The lyrics demonstrate a desire for reconciliation and a desire to move forward harmoniously.
Interestingly, the song ends with the line "I wish we all could fly", which can be interpreted as a metaphor for the freedom to rise above the challenges and struggles of life, suggesting a longing for a sense of liberation and a desire for life to be easier.
