The band released one album, Do It Yourself, in 1997 and began work on a follow up (with Mark Heany replacing Watts as drummer), before splitting up due to musical differences during recording sessions in January 1999. The second album was never officially released, although it later surfaced as a bootleg.
Squire went on to release two solo albums: Time Changes Everything (2002) and Marshall's House (2004) . Helme, meanwhile, went on to form The Yards, along with Fletcher, who also joined Rick Witter and the Dukes with the former Shed Seven frontman in 2005.

Love Is The Law
The Seahorses Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
The Seahorsesβ Love Is The Law is a song that tells a story about a group of people who live in a less-than-ideal environment, a dogfish egg case that they can barely call home with no roof on top. They are a group of misfits who stick together, trying to make the best out of their situation. The lyrics in the first verse talk about Mad Lizzy Crumbs, a person whose appearance is not fully described but is said to have a disability in her hands. Despite her physical limitations, the group still notices her and tries to get her pants off when she calls. The second verse introduces another character, Strap-on Sally, and an establishment called Oasis that sells shoes so hot they will blow your mind. The group runs from the two characters as they fear for their behinds. The chorus states that despite their struggles, they find comfort in their love for each other and the journey that they are on. Love is the law, and they take comfort in each other.
The bridge of the song is where the tone changes, and the lyrics become more poetic. The imagery changes from a group of misfits in a dingy environment to a starry sky with no sound. The singer finds solace in their love when they see the light in the eyes of their loved one and the smile on their lips. They realize that their lost soul has been found. The last chorus reaffirms this sentiment, and the journey that they are on now has a destination. They can lay back and drown in their senses and love each other wholeheartedly.

Let's go back to our own dwelling

We can lay back and enjoy the ride
We can relax and let life unfold
Take in the sights and drown in our senses
We should immerse ourselves in the beauty around us
