1. The Seer is a progressive death metal band from Newcastle. Present in The Seer's music are elements from many of the various subgenres within metal, with several songs containing orchestral arrangements as well.
The band was founded in 2006 by Ryan Huthnance (Mortal Sin, Kindred, Chrome Bison) as a solo project, with the intention of creating much more aurally complex and intense than that which he had played in previous bands. Over the course of 2006 and 2007, at least 20 songs were written for the debut album “Prologue”, of which 10 were chosen for the final tracklisting.
As is evident on “Prologue”, The Seer draws from a wealth of influences, from the raw energy of thrash and death metal, to the much more refined and grandiose elements of classical music. On top of the cacophony of blast-beats and growled vocals, extremely melodic and tasteful, yet still face-melting solos are also present to complete the package.
In 2008, the album was recorded, mixed and mastered at Ryan’s home studio “Emissary Studios”, but the final product was deemed to be unsatisfactory - and thus “Prologue” was re-recorded from late 2008 into early 2009. In mid-2009, Ryan was contacted through Myspace by Ben Rommell (ex-Grim Demise), who offered his services as a second guitarist. This offer was the catalyst for The Seer’s evolution into a live act. Enlisting the services of close friends Allan Swaffield (ex-SoulTremor, Chrome Bison) on bass, and Pete Downtong (Viral Millennium, ex-Kindred) on drums, the band was now complete.
With these new members, the songs changed to suit each new member's personal style, so 5 of the tracks from the original "Prologue" CD were chosen to be re-recorded yet again for an EP of the same title - resulting in them sounding bigger and better than ever.
After several local shows, the band chose to continue without Pete, and found a replacement in Luke Cook (Mortal Sin, ex-Killrazer, ex-Vaticide), who then chose to leave the band after only a few months. Ben was then replaced by Rohan Macdonald (ex-Soultremor), and Luke was replaced by Mark Van Tongeren (The Paradox Unseen)
With the “Prologue” EP only representing The Seer in it’s embryonic stages, and with all the band members being in their early to mid-20’s, the band can only go upwards from here. With a fully functional line-up and a completed EP, The Seer have their sights set on main support slots, and eventually, the world stage.

Where Do We Go
The Seer Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Maybe one too many times
A star was growing
In a threatening sky
Still believing
What will come we'll make it through
Luck won't leave us
But this journey's 'bout to end
Time is running through our hands
Out of sight and evading land
Where do we go
Take a look around
When this ship goes
Down down down
Lost in the storm
On the raging sea
When this ship goes
Down down down
We choose the straight way
Made it without any doubts
Words of weakness
Never spoken out
There's one destiny we'll share
No one else will ever care
And no one there who is to blame
Where do we go
Take a look around
When this ship goes
Down down down
Lost in the storm
On the raging sea
When this ship goes
Down down down
Where do we go
Take a look around
When this ship goes
Down down down
Lost in the storm
On the raging sea
When this ship goes
Down down down
Where do we go
Where do we go
Lost in the storm
When this ship goes
Down down down
The Seer's song "Where Do We Go" speaks about a journey that is approaching its end, and the uncertainty that comes with it. The lyrics use a ship metaphor to describe the journey, where the passengers are lost in the storm and the ship is going down. The first verse talks about a star growing in a threatening sky, perhaps indicating looming danger that is close. Despite this, the passengers still believe that they would make it through and that their luck wouldn't leave them. However, the second verse talks about how time is running through their hands, and the land is evading them. It seems like they are nearing the end of their journey, and there is nowhere else to go but down.
The chorus repeats the question, "Where do we go?" and paints a picture of passengers lost in the storm, with a ship that is going down. The lyrics suggest that they have chosen the straight way, and made it without any doubts or weaknesses. But despite that, they are facing a destiny that they will share, and no one else will care. There is no one to blame for their situation. The song ends with another repeat of the chorus asking where they will go, indicating the uncertainty that they are facing.
Overall, "Where Do We Go" is a poignant and emotional song about the end of a journey, and the fear and uncertainty that comes with it.

See...this guy, user-fz etc. knows how to communicate. Bang! 5 dot points and he's done. All this other mob of blabber mouths take 8 minutes, and too often more, to make the same point.
Thanks user-fz.

Be careful of feeling better than others or superior to others if you do indeed have these gifts because your own ego will draw you further away from God / Universe. Stay humble always and bear in mind that you may be an instrument of God at any given time.
