"From the prairie city of Saskatoon, Canada come the Sheepdogs, 4 young gentlemen who revel in the joy of rock n roll so wholeheartedly, it's downright contagious. Sporting the long-haired looks of their musical forefathers, the lads make the most of their 2 guitars, bass and drums combo. Soulful vocalizations, everybody harmonizing, old-school guitar chops winding, riffing and chiming, and a grooving rhythm section that keeps it all going. Having already cemented their reputation as dynamic performers in their hometown, the Sheepdogs now turn their attention to spreading their affection for rock n roll cross-country. They have spent the last year covering the great white north, playing from Vancouver island to Montreal. They have played festivals, headlined a bill during 2007's Junofest, opened for the likes of Matt Mays and el Torpedo, and performed before thousands at 2006's Saskatoon Centennial Celebration. In January 2007 they released their debut LP Trying to Grow, a collection of guitar-driven originals that recall classic rockers like the Stones, CCR, and the Kinks. The album's title-track was featured in a province-wide campaign in their native Saskatchewan. Early 2008 has already seen the completion of their follow-up album, which mixes elements of southern rock and moody soul with gleeful straight-forward rockers. Once again, the boys are hitting the road, spreading their rock n roll revival to the rest of Canada."

Is Your Dream Worth Dying For?
The Sheepdogs Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
And I've really been away for so long
And you didn't have to grab on so strong
Darling so
Is your dream worth dying for?
Is your dream worth dying for?
Is your dream worth dying for? (Ooh, ooh, ooh)
(Won't you get outta my brain?)
Come on come on get outta my head
Won't you find some other soul who's dead?
I can't get to where I'm flying in so long
You can't keep me coming back to this hold on
Good for me to find out how long
Darling so
Is your dream worth dying for?
Is your dream worth dying for?
Is your dream worth dying for? (Ooh, ooh, ooh)
Head over heals got to find the right wheels to get away
(Won't you get outta my brain?)
Come on come on get outta my head
Won't you find some other soul who's dead?
Every step forward I take two steps back
I'm just trying to get to something but I'm stuck on this track
Every step forward I take two steps back
You ain't givin' me nothing you got me all outta whack
Well I didn't have to stray for so long
And I've really been away for so long
And you didn't have to grab on so strong
Darling so
Is your dream worth dying for?
Is your dream worth dying for?
Is your dream worth dying for? (Ooh, ooh, ooh)
In "Is Your Dream Worth Dying For?" by The Sheepdogs, the singer reflects on their rocky relationship with a lover who seems to be holding them back from achieving their dreams. The opening lines indicate that they have been away from each other (physically or emotionally) for a long time, possibly indicating that the singer is trying to distance themselves from the relationship. The lover in question seems desperate to hold onto the singer, clinging on "so strong," which suggests that they may not want to let go.
The chorus poses the question "Is your dream worth dying for?" which can be interpreted in a few different ways. It could be a warning against becoming too obsessed with one's dreams, as they may end up harming oneself or others in the pursuit of them. Alternatively, it could be encouraging the listener to follow their dreams, but to make sure they are worth the sacrifices that will inevitably come with them.
The repeated plea for the lover to "get outta my head" suggests that the singer is feeling stifled by the relationship and needs to break free. The lyric "Every step forward I take two steps back" further emphasizes this struggle, as the singer feels like they are not making any real progress towards achieving their goals.
Overall, "Is Your Dream Worth Dying For?" is a reflective song that explores the tension between following one's dreams and maintaining a relationship. It encourages the listener to consider the consequences of their actions and to make sure that their dreams are truly worth pursuing.
