2) The Sheer is a rock band formed in Haarlem, the Netherlands in the summer of 2000. The initial lineup consisted of Bart van Liemt (leadvocals and guitar), Jasper Geluk (analog keyboards and backing vocals), Jorn van der Putte (bass and backing vocals) and Gert-Jan Zegel (drums). JanPeter Hoekstra (guitar, pedalsteel guitar and backing vocals) joined the band last year during the making of third album Here and Now and Long Before.
Their early work is known to have upbeat 60's and 90's britpop influences, recent songwriting has grown far more melancholic and alt-country.
The Sheer has released two albums to date. Their debut album The Keyword Is Excitement! was released in 2004. The band has won several Dutch awards for upcoming talent like the 'Zilveren Harp' and the '3FM Award'. Their sophomore album, Feel The Need, was released in 2006. Singles from both albums have received considerable airplay on national radio and have made it into game and movie soundtracks. The band gained a respected live reputation and played the Lowlands and Pinkpop festivals among many others.
After years of almost continuous recording and touring, the band retreated in November 2007 to regroup, focus and work on their third coming, Here And Now And Long Before.
The Sheer was signed to Universal Music for the first two records. As the major opted for a new deal during the making of the new album, the band saw a chance to take matters into their own hands and started her own label instead. Song One Records will release the new record together with indie label PIAS in the Benelux.
Here and Now and Long Before was released April 20, 2009. The record is quite a departure from their work so far.

3) Formed in the summer of 2014, quickly becoming a staple in the greater LA scene, Sheer channel an earnestness redolent to that of mid-90s emo and indie rock, while primarily occupying a reverb-induced space suggestive of Galaxie 500 and The Jesus And Mary Chain.
4) Sheer, on the other hand (without a The), which defaults to here, was a mid 80s dance project on Creation Records. It was nominally fronted by the Scot, Thomas Taft (the single, "Cascades", was credited to Sheer Taft). The recordings were mostly by members of Primal Scream. The album, "Absolutely", was released under the name Sheer.

Out in the rain, September rain
I'm thinking about, before I forget
things that I said
Ooh, the shops are all closed
The city is a ghost
The streets are all empty now
I'm thinking about
You and I, You and I
Together we could touch the sky
Touch the sky
You and I, You and I
Together we could touch the sky
Touch the sky
Ooh, did I say something wrong
Or left unsaid all along
The words that you want to hear
Oh, I knew you would go
But I think you should know
Still carey your picture round
Old lovers and friends
And those I can't stand
They've all found their way
I, I cannot see
Where I will be
In a couple of years from now
You and I, You and I
Together we could touch the sky
Touch the sky
You and I, You and I
Together we could touch the sky
Touch the sky
Ooh, I like to go
Out in the rain, September rain
I'm thinking about, figuring out
All I forget to say
All I forget to say
Yeah
You and I, You and I
Together we could touch the sky
Touch the sky
You and I, You and I
Together we could touch the sky
Touch the sky
Yeah
Ooh Yeah, yeah
Oh yeah
The Sheer's song All I Forget is a reflective song about missed chances and possible regrets. The lyrics depict the singer's desire to go out into the rain to clear his mind and sort through his thoughts. He acknowledges that there are things he said or left unsaid in the past that he is now trying to remember before he forgets. The city is portrayed as a ghost, with all the shops closed and streets empty, adding to the introspective tone of the song. Throughout the song, the singer wonders if he said something wrong or left things unsaid and ponders the words that he should have spoken. He admits that he still carries around pictures of old lovers and friends but is unsure of where he will be in a couple of years.
The chorus of the song, "You and I, You and I, Together we could touch the sky," is a hopeful message that suggests that things could have been different if the singer had only spoken up or taken action. The repeated phrase "Touch the sky" could be interpreted as a metaphor for achieving something great or lofty, but it's something that the singer feels may no longer be possible because of missed opportunities.
In summary, All I Forget is a beautiful and introspective song about the moments we miss in life and the regret that can come with not acting on our desires.
