You're right. Living in Ottawa in those days, I had the pleasure of seeing these guys, and other favourites like the Bourbon Tabernacle Choir and the Hopping Penguins, in both Toronto and Ottawa. Definitely some of the most fun times of my life for live music.

Oh man, it is fun to watch and listen to. This and Spadina Bus came out during high school which is a magic time for digging music.
Songs from that time are cemented-in. Years can pass and they are remembered so well, down to intonation.

Wow...As an graphic art's student in the early '80s in Toronto, I remember seeing plastered hand bills about this song but I thought it was by the group 'A Bunch of Fucking Goofs'. So glad I found this video and to learn it's not by ABoFGs but by the Shuffle Demons, whom I also remember seeing plastered hand bills on telephone poles downtown Toronto.

I'm boggled.
You guys are still around? And you have a NEW(ish) album out?

I was made aware of you guys back in '86, when I was in the US Navy. A local San Diego friend brought a cassette of your self-titled album back from that, played it for me, and I was hooked. I bought it off him (after a long bit of wheedling), and several years later, had it (and everything else in my car) stolen. Years later, long after I'd gotten out, I was looking to find a copy - I eventually did, in ~2009, on EBay, of a Dutch(?) label CD that cost a good bit bor me to get shipped to the States.
Then, ten minutes ago, on a whim, I did a search here.
HOLY SHIT!
I'm inordinately pleased by this. I'll be buying "Crazy Time" tomorrow.
