Floating on the rain
Into the dark
(Into the dark)
Where you are
Turning in the wind
A miracle of tin
Into the sun
Where you are
We're flying
Flying
Kings of all we see
As high as we can be
Over the land
(Over the land)
To where you are
Heavier than air
With tickets to get there
Over the sea
(Over the sea)
To where you are
We're flying
Flying
Flying
Flying
We're flying
Flying
Flying
Flying
Flying

Flying
The Silencers' song "Flying" speaks about the freedom and wonder of flying. The opening lines set the stage for the journey ahead, as the singer and listener are floating on the rain, heading towards the darkness. However, they are not alone - there is a sense of connection as they mention "where you are." The next lines describe an airplane turning in the wind, a "miracle of tin," and rising up towards the sun. This imagery of flying is further emphasized with the repetition of "flying," creating a sense of exhilaration.
The following lines change the focus to the perspective of the passengers themselves, calling them "kings of all we see" as they soar through the sky. There is a sense of limitless possibility as they travel "as high as we can be" over the land and sea with their plane tickets. The final repetition of "flying" emphasizes the transformative power of flight and the sense of freedom it brings.
