Any Way You Want It
The Singboks Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Any way you want it
That's the way you need it
Any way you want it

Woooaaah

She loves to laugh
She loves to sing
She does everything

Woouuaah

She loves to move
She loves to groove
She loves the lovin' things (she loves the lovin' things)

Como Tú lo quieras
Tú lo necesitas
Como Tú lo quieras

Ay, ay

Como Tú lo quieras
Tú lo necesitas
Como Tú lo quieras

I was alone
I never knew

What good love could do
Then we touch
Then we sang
About the lovin' things

Ay, eh, eh, eh

Any way you want it
That's the way you need it
Any way you want it

Oh

Any way you want it
That's the way you need it
Any way you want it

Como Tú lo quieras

Tú lo necesitas
Como Tú lo quieras

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to "Any Way You Want It" by The Singboks convey a sense of freedom and flexibility in a relationship. The repeated phrase "Any way you want it" emphasizes the importance of accommodating and meeting the desires and needs of one's partner. It suggests that true love involves being open-minded and willing to adapt to the preferences of the other person.

The energetic and uplifting tone of the song is reflected in the line "She loves to laugh, she loves to sing, she does everything." This portrays a joyful and lively individual who fully embraces life and takes pleasure in simple pleasures. The use of repetition in the chorus, particularly the "Woooaaah" and "Woouuaah" shouts, adds to the exuberance and enthusiasm expressed in the song.

The lyrics also touch upon the transformative power of love. The line "I was alone, I never knew what good love could do" suggests that the singer was previously unaware of the positive impact love could have on their life. The subsequent lines, "Then we touch, then we sang about the lovin' things," imply that love brings about a newfound happiness and a desire for expression.

The inclusion of Spanish phrases, "Como Tú lo quieras, Tú lo necesitas" (meaning "As you want it, you need it") adds a multicultural element to the song. It demonstrates that love and understanding transcend language barriers and cultural differences. This inclusion may also serve to broaden the song's appeal and reach a wider audience.

Overall, "Any Way You Want It" celebrates the joy of love, the importance of compromise, and the transformative nature of human connection. It encourages listeners to embrace spontaneity and adaptability in their relationships, emphasizing that love can bring happiness and fulfillment in many different ways.

The Spotify version did this medley so much justice, you can even hear some of the group members singing together! One example is that during the Penn Masala segment (the first one), at I think around the second half, one of the members of Cantasticos starts singing along, and it just sounds so pretty! If you guys want a better experience of this medley (as well as one without the constantly cheering audience), then I'd greatly suggest the Spotify version of this medley! Now, time for my opinions on who I think would win, since a lot of other people here are doing it and it looks pretty fun (please keep in mind this is not fact, if you guys think a different group should've won, let me know which one and why! I love hearing other people's opinions. Have polite discussions, though, please! >.<):

1. Das Sound Machine
I've stated on multiple occasions that the Kommissar is just too perfect for this world, but that isn't the only reason I believe DSM should win. Their performance was stellar, their song choices further asserted their power and grandeur compared to the other groups, and the race segment during the All I Do Is Win interlude was really smart and creative! If you guys want to see DSM's whole performance, take a look at this video (credit to King Samo): https://youtu.be/Y2otY8nVEsI

2. The Bellas
The Bellas did an amazing job, and the insertion of an original song was honestly quite a breath of fresh air; however, their song choices were kind of...messy? Who Run The World (is that the name?) and Flashlight were obvious leads, but to quote a friend of mine, too many cooks spoil the broth, and I feel like We Belong was kind of unneccesary, but it still sounded nice. For the Bellas' whole performance, watch it here (also by King Samo): https://youtu.be/1jcJ7Rgsh9Y

3. Penn Masala/Naan-Stops
Indian music has always been an anomaly to me, with some very specific instruments and how they sound when played, and somehow they portrayed all those different instruments very well, especially the bass/baritone singers! One specific highlight would be their second segment, though unfortunately some of it got covered up by the DSM chanting in this video. Once again, the Spotify version has no crowd, so head there. They sound wonderful and their lead sounds so into it! Here's part of their second segment I particularly like: [ 1:30 ] Vocal runs are commonplace in the Indian/Tamil songs I've heard throughout my life, and the run here is just stunning! Massive props to the sound directors, and their lead, I can't imagine how hard he had to have practiced for that part alone!

Anyway, here's the Spotify version, since I mentioned it so many times 😂: https://open.spotify.com/track/4ILuRf97jerQsbLemK4d8e?si=78aaab655cd54b01

@akritigupta8957

At 1.03 the lyrics for penn masala go like-
Saari raat
Saari raat
Har ek raat
Meri baahon me aa
Meri baahon me aa
Meri jaane meri baahon me aa
(The entire night, the entire night, every single night
Come in my arms, come in my arms, my love come in my arms)
And at 1.30 it goes-
Chaahoge ye tum jaise
Bas chaahoge ye tum jaise
Cha-chahoge ye tum jaise bhi
(The way u want it, just the way u want it, just the way u want it)
Ga ga re re ga re re re sa re ga, ni sa dha ma, pa dha ma re, ga ma re sa, sa re ga pa dhaaa, pa ma ga ma pa ma ga pa ma ga paaa, ni saa re ga (chaahoge tum jaise bhi)
(These are strings of indian classical musical notes sung rapidly in non specific order)
