The Skoidats formed in the summer of 1995 in Helena, Montana. Soon after their inception, they relocated to Missoula, Montana, losing two members in the move. After arriving in Missoula, the three original Skoidats placed an ad in the paper to find a new horn section. It was soon answered by two members of the University of Montana marching band. They were the first and only horn players to be auditioned. Since robbing the University of Montana marching band of two members, this five piece toured the country four times and played with many well-known ska- and oi-bands. The Skoidats broke up in 2001, the band lives spread all over the world this day.
Unlike many Ska bands, The Skoidats sound varied greatly from song to song, pleasing Oi! fans as well as traditional Ska fans. It was rare to see someone standing still at a Skoidats show as their energy was impossible to ignore. The skoidats played loud and hard and often sang about traditional punk and skins topics such as fighting, having sex, and drinking.

The lyrics directly address skinheads, urging them to band together and show their strength. The use of the exclamation marks underscores the urgency of the message.
The song employs a number of evocative phrases that are common in skinhead culture. "Stomp the moon" and "skinhead stomp" are both examples of this. They suggest a sense of power and aggression, and the call to "show them what you got" reinforces this attitude. Throughout the song, there is a sense of restlessness and pent-up frustration that comes to a head in the chorus. The repeated "skinhead revolt" creates a sense of unity and solidarity, as if the listener is part of a larger movement.
Overall, Skinhead Revolt is a rousing call to arms for skinheads. It taps into the subculture's sense of defiance and rebellion, urging listeners to come together and resist the forces that seek to suppress them.
