The Slackers's song Wanted Man tells the story of a fugitive who is wanted in multiple cities and states across the United States. The lyrics suggest that the singer has been on the run for a long time, traveling through various states and working in different jobs to avoid getting caught. The refrain, "Wherever you might look tonight you might see this wanted man," emphasizes to the listener that the singer could be anywhere at any given moment.
The singer has had a rough life, turning to a life of crime and maybe regretting some of the decisions he's made. The line, "I've had all that I wanted of a lot of things I've had, and a lot more than I needed of some things that turned out bad," suggests that he's done things that he's not proud of and has had his fill of the criminal lifestyle.
