Bloodline
The Slow Show Lyrics

Just to see your name
I'm looking down on the bloodline
Hoping that you, do the same
And no one's there to see me
No one at all
I'm looking down on the bloodline
Hoping that you call
Every page has a name
And yours is a page that I know so well??
Don't you know me
Don't you know me
Can you hear me now
Cause I'm calling
Again, again, again, again, again
Can you hear me now
Cause I'm calling
Again, again, again, again, again
This is the last time, the last time I call
This is the last time, the last I call
I won't let you get me down no more
Tired of hoping that you call
I won't let you get me down no more
Tired of bracing every fall
I won't let you get me down no more
Tired of hoping that you call
I won't let you get me down no more
Tired of bracing every fall
And this is the last time, the last time I'll call
This is the last time, the last time I call
Won't let you get me down no more
Tired of hoping that you call
I won't let you get me down no more
Tired of bracing every fall
This the last time, the last time I'll call
This is the last time, the last time I'll call
This is the last time, the last time I'll call
This is the last time, the last time I'll call
The Slow Show's "Bloodline" is a powerful ballad that seems to be about the pain and frustration of unrequited love. The singer is standing "here this evening," looking down on "the bloodline," which might be a metaphor for the singer's own family line or lineage. The singer hopes that the object of their affection, who is apparently part of this bloodline, is looking down as well and sees the singer's name. It seems that the singer has been waiting for a long time for this person to acknowledge them, to call or reach out in some way, but no one is there to see them.
The chorus has a desperate quality to it, as the singer calls out to this person again and again, asking if they can hear them. The repetition of "again, again, again" emphasizes this sense of desperation, as though the singer is willing to keep trying no matter how many times they've been ignored or rejected. But the singer also acknowledges that this is the last time they'll call - they're tired of hoping and waiting, tired of picking themselves up after every fall.
Overall, "Bloodline" is a poignant and emotional song that captures the complexity of unrequited love, the pain of waiting for someone who might never come, and the bittersweet sense of finally letting go.

Colin from accounts. a random show I almost didn't watch. Turned out to be great and have an amazing soundtrack throughout. Wouldn't have found this song without it.

The immeasureable power of film/television images and an unrelated sound track coupled with personal understanding of the lyrics/meaning of the sound track. It has the ability to etch whatever you watched into your brain.

Love this video and song, perfectly executed. Brighton has never been more romantically shot with longing and regret through a song’s lyrics.
