1. UK - … Read Full Bio ↴There are three bands recognized by the name of The Social;
1. UK - Laurence Hussey, Alfie Milner, Liam Westbrook & Stuee Bevan. Hailing from north London, they possess a raw and direct quintessential Englishness that is unnerving in its passion. Building upon their influences (Joy Division & The Smiths) The Social establish their own unique image. Driving, almost frenetic, drums bound tightly together by Laurences deep, operatic vocals and compelling bass lines, create a distinctive and gripping sound.
2. USA -The Social is an up and coming powerpop band from Indianapolis, IN. Since late 2010 these boys have been working harder than ever in order to make a name for themselves throughout the country. In early 2011 they recorded and released their debut E.P. “Summer Isn’t Over” produced by famed John Naclerio (My Chemical Romance, Brand New, Senses Fail, Every Avenue) and immediately hit the road, logging over 7400 miles across the eastern United States. Collectively these boys have shared stages with The Dangerous Summer(Hopeless Records) , The Morning Of(Trajic Hero Records), Every Avenue (Fearless Records), Hawthorne Heights (Victory Records), and I See Stars (Sumerian Records). The Social Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
All the lights we were
All the lights we were
All the lights we were
How they need something that's so hard
To come a time, some time we spent
(I cried for we when all was to come free
Split your tongue down the semi kind
Jealous lovers that don't love to live
Lick the kill that never knew
Eat the trees and then get off on time
Get us something with the finger kids
(I want it)
Put your teeth where you love to love
Drink some spit just to save your life
Bury parents in a moment's time
Hate it all and you still use shampoo
You hate it all and you still use shampoo
Find some bullets in a backyard
Shoot them up with your favorite kid
Free them up like its another knife
Save them for when you thought you did
Seen the tricks all use shampoo
You hate it all
My daddy told me to get a life
Like the something of simple time
It tastes so good
I've seen your dreams and I wish you would
I've seen your choice and it don't taste so good
Sucks the jaws and they won't taste so good
I've seen your drugs and they don't look so good
Suck the jaws like I wish you would
The lyrics of The Social's song "Suicide" are quite abstract and open to interpretation. The repetition of "All the lights we were" serves to create a contemplative mood, perhaps reflective of the past, and a sense of longing for something that is now gone. The lines "How they need something that's so hard" and "Jealous lovers that don't love to live" suggest that the song might be addressing themes of despair, struggle, and resentment, particularly in relationships.
The rest of the lyrics are quite surreal and fragmented, with references to splitting tongues, eating trees, burying parents, and seeing dreams. The lines "Hate it all and you still use shampoo" and "Find some bullets in a backyard" suggest a sense of nihilism or apathy towards everyday objects and actions, while the repeated refrain of "I've seen your ____ and I wish you would" creates a sense of detachment or separation from reality.

Social Suicide
Right now
Well it's finally time to face my fears
Gonna get the hell out of here
And create a fresher atmosphere
But the consequences clear
There's a furnace set on high
And the yearning undefyed
But it's time to turn the tide
It's social suicide
Like you
Perseverance is a useless tool
Just a patron on a ship of fools
Painting interest in the cast and crew
Why you've broken every single rule
There's a furnace set on high
And the yearning undefyed
But it's time to turn the tide
It's social suicide
Shadows entertain me
I don't want it masses
Shadows explain their known reactions
I don't even know if I can ever find truth
But I'm sure it won't come from far away
There's a furnace set on high
And the yearning undefied
But it's time to turn the tide
It's social suicide

One of the greatest songs of its genre in my opinion. Unfortunately so underrated. Memories with T.H. Project 8.
