The Souls Lyrics

A smile and a nod, but what could I say to her
That she hasn't heard before?
When she steps up to her door, and she hears that same old line
Same old line. keep on tryin'
How could I find if she's made up her mindWould it be right if I asked her tonight?
What could I say
That she hasn't heard before?
When she steps up to her door, and she hears that same old line
Same old line, keep on tryin'
I'm the not the first one and I can't be the last one
All that I want girl, is for you to remember me
All that's in life, is a sweet marry chase
All I can reach is a smile on her face
What can I say
That she hasn't heard before?
When she steps up to her door, and she hears that same old line.
Same old line, keep on tryin'
I'm the not the first one and I can't be the last one
All that I want girl, is for you to remember me
Remember me...
The lyrics of The Soul's "Remember" reflect the inner thoughts and feelings of someone captivated by a person they've just met. The singer describes encountering this person for the first time, marveling at her beauty with a mix of excitement and uncertainty. There is a sense of hesitation, as they ponder what words they could use to stand out and make an impression. The repeated lines questioning what could be said that she hasn't heard before convey the struggle to break through the familiar patterns of interaction.
The imagery of the person stepping up to their door and hearing the same old lines emphasizes the repetition and routine of social encounters, suggesting a desire to be original and memorable in their communication. The longing to find out if this person has already made up their mind reveals a yearning for clarity and a fear of rejection. The repeated refrain of "keep on tryin'" underscores a determination to persist in their efforts despite the challenges.
The singer acknowledges that they are not the first to be enamored by this person and may not be the last, showing an awareness of the fleeting nature of infatuation. Despite this, their sole wish is for this person to remember them, illustrating a deep-seated desire for a connection that transcends superficial encounters. The lyrics convey a mix of hope and vulnerability, expressing a longing for a meaningful impact on the person they are drawn to.
In the final lines, the singer contemplates the transient nature of life and the pursuit of happiness in a playful yet poignant way. The imagery of a "sweet merry chase" suggests a whimsical and perhaps futile quest for affection, while the desire to elicit a smile from this person highlights a simple yet profound aspiration for connection. The repetition of the plea for remembrance at the end of the song encapsulates the emotional core of the lyrics, with a plea for a lasting memory in the face of life's uncertainties and fleeting moments.

So I don't believe that is exactly the case. But infinity makes for a lot of possibilities, so for some people it could be true. From me, it's not my thinking because I too remember my past. I can explain I guess a bit starting with my "soul contract"...
Soul contract to me seems a ludicrous term though created by the internet without a lot of thought behind it, because with God I remember absolutely no need for a contract!! And it was just a lot of decision making and discussions about those decisions and I don't think for most people it's as significant as people think because free-will is more powerful and God and later angels made that pretty clear to me. Also, those decisions I was shown, many things are in a general sense and not all specific like certain events. From what I remember, I believe those things to be actually less important than the common human goal, The Relationship with The Creator, here in this world, before we leave it. The Relationship gets us past all concerns and into future planning.
God was clear to me about reincarnation, that it was not in a person's best future path. God told me my purpose for entering this world and I believe that everyone has one and can find out theirs directly from God, The Creator.
But back to your point, I believe the purpose may not be so significant the way people may think, as in something a person absolutely must accomplish or there would be some negative consequence or something like that - I think we are very much under God's Grace and God did explain Grace to me prior to arriving here. Again, for reincarnation back into this same exact world again, I don't believe it's a person's best future path, and also, most of the eastern religions teach this as well. But I also believe if a person really wants to repeat a life here, they can. My recollection of being with God is everything is all about how special we are, how unique we are and how important each of us is to God. The only characteristic which came close to the love God demonstrated would be God's patience. God's infinite love and immense patience amazed me constantly. I think most if not all the scary hell and end-times stories on the internet to be from the devil to make people think God wants bad things for us. All totally unfounded and when they use The Bible to support their stories, after I read the passages again, I usually very quickly discover that they're wrong.
For learning, it's great and fun. God is not boring. But learning will always happen on one's eternal journey. But because the way infinity works, actually faith is much more important for your eternal journey than anything you can ever learn. That's why The Bible talks about it so much and how the heart is as important or more important than the mind.
I think people are a lot better positioned in this world, in terms of their spiritual future, than most religions will tell us. We have the words of Jesus and I've yet to meet anyone who came to fully understand them who does not relish in them. Also, I believe it's much better for a person to not have experienced miracles or had visions returned to them of past lives. The future is where we're headed, not the past. And God says people who have not seen and yet still believe to be blessed (John 20:29 and John 20:30).

@@margo5583 That which you wrote was not my experience. I did not decide all the things which could be decided.
God showed them to me but I only made one decision and all the other decisions, I rejected them and did not make any of the possible choices which there were many.
Also, the term "soul contract" is a ludicrous term as with God there's no need for a contract, and the decisions made prior to arriving into this world are typically much less important and much less powerful than your own free will and your Relationship with your Creator. John 15:26 and ability to daily realize John 14:20.
The only common human goal of great importance is establishing or re-establishing The Relationship with God, your Creator, The One Creator and only Not-created Being. It is a one-to-ONE Relationship. God is immense patience, 2 Peter 3:9 and infinite Love.
Do this so you can better participate in the planning and preparations for your future both here and beyond. It is an eternal journey through infinity and this is why Faith and The Relationship are so important. John 20:29.
Infinity makes for a lot of possibilities. God is not boring. Everything is real, including suffering, pain, forgiveness, kindness, bliss and love. It is an infinite journey and beyond this world, The Relationship with God is required to stay on a pleasurable path. "Delight" is spoken to directly, from God, in Malachi 3:1.

Sounds like me when I found a video when I was 18. I had never even investigated into Indias culture. Photos could’ve been anywhere in Asia. But I found a video and got hooked. Then I started learning the choreography, learning the body language rules, then the language came then language history and Hindi soon became Punjabi, and now I’m working on Bangal, and Tamil. I already have other ancestral blood language but passed life language? 😮
Here is where it gets interesting. I’m from where Edgar Allen Poe Grew up in Foster care. I also ended up in foster care. Used to write poems of woe and angst myself. Never read a single word of Nevermore, or any of those works.
I only recently found all this out because of my partner. Anyways, we went to visit my home state, and found a museum so I got us tickets so he could feel like we can do things he likes too.
We went.
I didn’t read much or look at much. But being back in that building.
Smelling those smells.
It was a feeling I can’t quite put into words.
Reading the words written so so many years ago, my handwriting still reflecting the old curves today. Easily reading every word written there as if it were print, while my BF and Mother struggled.
Happy to visit, weird to feel so suddenly famous, far too late…
Like …. Being Van Gogh and an art curator that doesn’t recognize you telling you how amazingly brilliant and talented you were for turning your life of anguish and mental torture into magnificent works of art.

“It’s like your soul remembers something your mind doesn’t.” Brilliant.

Science already proved that memory is not stored in the brain or anything living in this material world.
@RioSuave11
@@J-hz4jb Why lie and make that up? The hippocampus is located in the brain's temporal lobe, it's where episodic memories are formed and indexed for later access.
@J-hz4jb
@@RioSuave11 It's the scientific study of caterpillars which were given smells and some electric shocks before they turned into butterflies. The are many stages in the transition sack and in the middle stages there is no life at all, just molecules, no enzymes, no cells, nothing at all living, only inert molecules, before they begin to go through the final stages, converting back into life again and then finally into butterflies. I don't lie- that would be a sin. The experiment is well known, has been repeated and you can hear about it on that show they do on the internet called "Ted Talks." Don't make accusations because neither you nor I have reviewed every single scientific study ever performed - there's a lot of them.
