All parts of the album Tiger and the Duke were recorded individually and each member was only able to hear the part they contributed to the album. The only member who heard the whole album during its recording process was Balling. The group released their next album Lover, the Lord Has Left Us... on May 30th, 2006.
Keith Goodwin was announced as one of the vocalists for the next album, taking on the pseudonym of 'The Penguin'.
The Sound of Animals Fighting have only performed live four times, all of which were released on a DVD, entitled "We Must Become The Change We Want To See". Three of their four shows took place in California (Anaheim, L.A., and San Diego), USA, and one in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
With the release of The Ocean And The Sun, the band issued a series of 400 masks, 100 of each of 4 designs, paired with a 7" for a limited preorder of the album. This was the first and only vinyl release and novelty item sold by the band.
In 2022 the band would be revived with a similar line-up as before, and would release the 4 track EP "APESHIT" (their first musical content in 14 years) to promote their 13 date tour across the US in January of 2023.

The Sound of Animals Fighting Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴
It feels like it's rushed, rushed because you
Oh how
Let her to take as
They already know
Tell me if you're straying off
Same as you were, they're calling you out
Is this the sign of the end
Is this the sign of distress
Are you losing air
Oh how, how is this worth waiting
It feels like it's rushed, rushed because you
Oh how
Let her to take as
They already know
Tell me if you're straying off
Same as you were, they're calling you out
Is this the sign of the end
Are we losing air
Is this the sign of distress
Are you losing air
Something's been raped
Once it's
dead it can't come back again
Something's been raped
Once it's dead it can't come back again
The lyrics of The Sound of Animals Fighting's "Skullflower" seem to be about a relationship that's on the brink of falling apart. The singer seems to feel like the relationship is rushed and not worth waiting for, as if they aren't getting the time they need to figure things out. They ask their partner if they're straying off, indicating that there may be trust issues in the relationship. The repetition of "oh how" adds a sense of desperation to the lyrics, as if the singer is pleading with their partner to either stay or leave.
The final lines of the song, "something's been raped, once it's dead it can't come back again," could indicate the finality of a failed relationship. The use of the word "raped" is likely metaphorical, but still adds a sense of violence and trauma to the already desperate lyrics. Overall, "Skullflower" is a melancholy and poetic song about the difficult, and sometimes painful, emotions that come with the end of a relationship.

TSOAF need to make a comeback. They’re genuinely one of the most interesting bands in this entire genre.
Suddenly_NB
They did a tour back in 2017 as a kind of come back and then nothing else happened sadly
Grant Chavez
They're the ONLY band in this genre lmao
Jared K
@Suddenly_NB That's they're MO, not really a solid permanent band. They'll reunite again.
David Andrew

HeyChicagoWhattaSay
I've learned that if I am in a relationship and Skull Flower resonates this deeply, that the relationship is destined to fail
