The band had three very successful records in Sweden before their critically acclaimed breakthrough US release in 2001, Behind the Music, which was nominated for the Best Alternative Album award at the 2003 Grammy Awards.
Led by singer Ebbot Lundberg, they were influenced by sixties rock giants like The Who and The Doors and seventies psychedelic bands like Pink Floyd.
Known for their marathon live shows and crazy on-stage antics, Q magazine named them as one of the "50 Bands To See Before You Die" in September of 2002.
World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) used their song Big time as one of Wrestlemania 21's theme songs in 2005. "Big Time", along with Mother One Track Mind, was featured on the Gran Turismo 4 soundtrack.
They toured the US in 2005 with friends Oasis in support of their album Origin Vol. 1.
Their last album Throw It To the Universe was released in April 2012, followed by a farewell tour which saw the band play their last concert in Stockholm in December 22, 2012
Second Life Replay
The Soundtrack of Our Lives Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I killed myself today
For second life replay
I killed myself today
I had too many lives
I did it to survive
So I killed myself today
But somehow I'm not dead
I'm still inside a head
To testify what's real
When truth is to believe
I killed myself today
For second life replay
Yeah, I killed myself today
I killed myself today
(I killed myself today)
For legendary fame
(For legendary fame)
I blew myself away
I did it in a crowd
(Killed myself today)
The echo was about
(For second life replay)
The old familiar shame
But somewhere I'll survive
To make you feel alive
So you could all reload
Your dreams and all your hopes
I killed myself today
(I killed myself today)
For second life replay
(For second life replay)
Yeah, I had to leave this game
But I'll return tomorrow
Alive to learn again
Alive to learn tomorrow
Alive to learn again
The lyrics to "Second Life Replay" by The Soundtrack of Our Lives explore the idea of reinventing oneself through death and rebirth. The singer describes killing themselves and being reborn in a second life, a new incarnation that allows them to achieve legendary fame and experience new dreams and hopes. The song suggests that this act of resurrection is necessary to achieve a sense of authenticity and to be able to testify to what's real, especially in an age when truth is subjective and elusive.
The repetition of the phrase "I killed myself today for second life replay" throughout the song helps to emphasize the themes of death and rebirth at play. The singer believes that they had too many lives and that death is a necessary act to fully experience life. The line "But somehow I'm not dead, I'm still inside a head" suggests that even in death, the singer's consciousness continues to exist. The song ultimately suggests that through this process of death and rebirth, one can continue to learn and experience life in new and exciting ways.

you know what my friend. It is a really good song, but let me share with you a piece of a Polish poem I told my daughter the moment I took her in my arms when she was born:
And when our child will be born,
I'll tell her
that the world is good and beautiful
(...)
there is the light and there is the darkness
here is the truth and here is the false
here is the left side and here the right
And she will live enlighten.

Watched that show along time ago, for some reason I haven’t listened to the tune in years. But, seems to be stuck in my head nearly everyday, at least the beginning.
