The band had three very successful records in Sweden before their critically acclaimed breakthrough US release in 2001, Behind the Music, which was nominated for the Best Alternative Album award at the 2003 Grammy Awards.
Led by singer Ebbot Lundberg, they were influenced by sixties rock giants like The Who and The Doors and seventies psychedelic bands like Pink Floyd.
Known for their marathon live shows and crazy on-stage antics, Q magazine named them as one of the "50 Bands To See Before You Die" in September of 2002.
World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) used their song Big time as one of Wrestlemania 21's theme songs in 2005. "Big Time", along with Mother One Track Mind, was featured on the Gran Turismo 4 soundtrack.
They toured the US in 2005 with friends Oasis in support of their album Origin Vol. 1.
Their last album Throw It To the Universe was released in April 2012, followed by a farewell tour which saw the band play their last concert in Stockholm in December 22, 2012

The Soundtrack of Our Lives Lyrics

No place to hide
In another time
Across the borderline
Across the borderline,
New ways to try
For another time across the borderline
Passing every stopsign to be a star,
Yeah, who do you think you are?,
Can you make it come your way somehow,
Across the borderline?
Across the borderline,
Keep rolling for a state of mind,
Where there's no sign of lies,
Across the borderline
So what do think you are?
Passing every stopsign to be a star,
Yeah, what do you think you are?
To make it come your way,
Across the borderline
What did you wish to be?
Across the borderline
What else did you buy?
How soon did you die?
Across the borderline
I thought you were a friend of mine
But you're a waste of time
Across the borderline
So who do you think you are?
Passing every stopsign to be a star
Yeah, what do you think you are?
Can you make it go away somehow?
Away somehow
What did you wish to be?
The Soundtrack of Our Lives's song Borderline seems to be questioning the motives of someone who is striving for fame and success at all costs. The lyrics highlight the border between success and failure and how one can easily cross it without any warning. The lines "Across the borderline, no place to hide" suggest that the crossing of the border can be dangerous and unforgiving, leading to a loss of personal identity and self-respect.
The repeated question "Who do you think you are?" is directed towards the person who is trying to make it big in the music industry. The lyrics seem to question the person's talent and how they plan to achieve their goals. The line "Passing every stop sign to be a star" is a metaphor for the person's disregard for rules and morals in order to achieve success. The song suggests that success obtained through such means is not ultimately fulfilling and can lead to a sense of emptiness and regret.
The chorus "Across the borderline, keep rolling for a state of mind, where there's no sign of lies, across the borderline" seems to suggest that the singer is searching for a state of mind where truth and personal integrity are valued over success and fame.

What a beautifully versed song sung by Ebbott Lundberg, about a friend who sought out stardom as opposed to deep friendship, i can't understand people like this at all, it takes one to know what this kind of seeking does and how lonely ultimately you will be if you do attain this sort of fame, i rejected it and sing for myself and others for joy and spirit, T.
