Waiting For You
The Spectors Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

There's been a lot of talk around
That you've been seen with a certain party
And now I'm so afraid I'm losing you
Oh, baby don't tell me you don't want my love
I couldn't give it to just anybody
Baby won't you say it isn't true

Don't leave me baby
Don't tell me it's over
After I trusted you
And did my best to make you happy
Is this what I get for lovin' you baby
Is this what I get for lovin' you baby
There was a night when you held me tight
And you said you'd always love me
You said you'd never hurt me

What will there be left for me
It's such a cruel world to be alone in
I always needed you to look out for me
Oh baby, I'm gonna miss your lovin' arms
They're the only arms I feel at home in
Don't you know how lonely I'm gonna be

Don't leave me baby
Don't tell me it's over
After I trusted you
And did my best to make you happy
Is this what I get for lovin' you baby
Is this what I get for lovin' you baby
There was a night when you held me tight

And you said you'd always love me
You said you'd never hurt me

I couldn't agree more that this song should have been a hit. Walter Scott's rendition demonstrates what an amazing voice he had. As far as I know "Just You Wait" was only played on KXOK in St.Louis back in 1967. I have to admit that I completely forgot the song until I heard it on KZQZ in St.Louis about a year or so ago. I have since added it to my "favorites" on YouTube and play it constantly.

Thank you for remembering Walter. You do him justice and a great tribute.

So, to the person that posted this. are you saying this is Walter Scott singing with the Spectors? We are having a discussion on FB and someone was looking for this song by Walter Scott. But, they were not sure. Can you clarify this for me? It sure sounds like him. Was reading in Wiki that he was in a band with his brother. I wasn't aware of him having a brother. Can anyone clarify and help solve the mystery ?
