Take Me There
The Squeeze Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
To greet you with a smile
My camel looks so tired
It's hardly worth my while
To tell you of my travels
Across the golden east
I see your preparations
Invite me first to the feast
Because dreams are made of this
Forever there'll be
A heaven in your kiss
Amusing belly dancers
Distract me from my wine
Across Tibetan mountains
Are memories of mine
I've stood some ghostly moments
With natives in the hills
Recorded here on paper
My chills and thrills and spills
Take me I'm yours
Because dreams are made of this
Forever there'll be
A heaven in your kiss
It's really been some welcome
You never seem to change
A grape to tempt your leisure
Romantic gestures strange
My eagle flies tomorrow
It's a game I treasure dear
To seek the helpless future
My love at last I'm here
Take me I'm yours
Because dreams are made of this
Forever there'll be
A heaven in your kiss
The Squeeze's song "Take Me There" is a song about adventure and romance. The lyrics are sung from the perspective of someone who has traveled far to be with their lover. They start off in the desert, having come a long way to see their significant other. They are tired, but happy to be there, and greet their lover with a smile. The mention of their tired camel suggests that the journey has been long and arduous.
The lyrics then delve into the singer's memories of their travels, mentioning belly dancers and Tibetan mountains. They have experienced many different cultures and have had some frightening experiences. These experiences are recorded on paper, as the singer has likely kept a journal or written down their adventures.
The song then returns to the present, with the singer remarking on how wonderful it is to be with their lover again. The lover has prepared a feast for them and has not changed at all over time. The singer is excited to continue their adventures with their lover, seeking the future together.
Overall, the song is a celebration of adventure and romance. The singer is eager to continue exploring new places with their lover, and is grateful for the moments they have shared together.

My dear friend and coworker listen to you guys all of the time. Anyone who knows about you probably does.
We thought of an idea. Let's start a petition right now.
The Main Squeeze plays the super bowl next year.
Hear me out.
I don't claim to be one of those all-knowing music snobs, but I'm 37, work at a music store, went to college for music, teach lessons for a living and play in a band myself, and I am NOT afraid to say that TMS is the best thing that has hit the airwaves in a LONG time.
Whenever I listen to you guys, I am not only excited by the music, but I'm HAPPY! That's not my nature to be that way. I'm also sick to my stomach that you're not the most famous band on the planet right now.
So, to anyone that reads this. Reply if you'll sign. I want to get a feel for how much support this would get. We'd have to put in a lot of effort, but if you love music, and you fear for its future, we need to make something happen for these guys.
To all 5 of you in the band, I may never know you, but I love you guys. This was the first song that I heard by you, and you deserve everything that the music scene has had to offer for decades now for your talents.
Let's make it happen.............not just for them, but for everyone of us. Much love to you all!

I know you think it would be awesome, but I live next to a producer who has musicians over all the damn time from just about any genre and while the music is great, it gets old freaking fast. It's very rare if you get the recording you want on the first take. In fact, it's rare if you get the recording on the 20th take. I hear the same songs over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and.... you get the idea.
We have the luxury of watching and listening to the best take here on Youtube, and while these guys are great and probably do get the job done on the first take sometimes, I'd be willing to bet they don't most of the time.
Anyway, I get my revenge on my neighbor when he has friends over just to hang out and chill rather than producing music, when I point my speakers to the window and blast whatever the hell music that I think is great and I want him to hear it. It probably doesn't, but I at least hope it makes him realize what I have to go through most days of the week.
Very sorry for this novel but your comment kind of got to me, haha. I've lived here for about 6 years and have no regrets, even with the insanity next door most of the time. I do know that some of the other neighbors don't appreciate, or tolerate, it as well as I do.
Anyway, food for though. Just think about it when you need to get up to get ready for work at 7am, and the neighbor has music at full blast until 3 or 4am. Not saying these guys are disrespectful to their neighbors, but I'm sure some of them don't appreciate it.

I often wish these guys were my neighbors. Then again, I wouldn't get anything done, I'd just sit outside, sip wine, and listen.

I have formed friendships suggesting this band...
