They began as The Buckeyes around 1955 with members Bruce Robinson and Ronnie Collins, and released two singles on the Cincinnati label Deluxe Records in 1957. In 1959 the group added Leroy Swearingen and released their first single as The Stereos, "A Love for Only You"; it flopped, and Swearingen left the group to be replaced by Nathaniel Hicks.[1] Swearingen, however, wrote the song "I Really Love You", which became their biggest hit, peaking at #15 on the U.S. Black Singles chart and #29 on the Billboard Hot 100.[2] They continued releasing singles up until 1968, none of which came close to reaching the success of "I Really Love You".
George Harrison covered "I Really Love You" for his 1982 album Gone Troppo.

The fact that it has an auxiliary tape input makes it so useful. Now you can plug a streamer or Bluetooth BluDento into it and blow peoples minds as you send music from your phone to this thing

My brother added an aux to mine by installing a switch and some RCA jacks on the back panel. It was really easy because there was already a line level patch cable with RCA plugs connecting the 8-Track deck to to the amp section inside the cabinet. So he didn't even have to tap any wires just plug in the output of the switch and plug the 8-Track output to the other side. So I would just leave the selector on 8-track and use the new switch to switch in my cassette deck output. Worked great.

Cool!

my folks had one of these when I was growing up; the even larger vacuum tube version. The electronics were superb but the corkboard back panel makes a terrible speaker enclosure and won't likely blow anyone's mind; it's just a piece of mid-tech furniture haha.
Heck, my cheapo Emerson bookshelf boom box from early 80s sounded better.

My buddy has that, using some lossless wireless gear for streaming FLAC files, to his parents actual 1960's console in his mid-century themed living room.

I have worked on so many Magnavox consoles. This one looks like a 1967 model. Magnavox did indeed place resistors on their aux inputs. Another trick up their sleeve sometimes was to place a blend resistor to reduce stereo separation of the phono input. This masked the noise on some records. I always removed that blend resistor to open up the soundstage.

I had one that I think was a 1966 model before Astrosonic was introduced. I later bought an Astrosonic model around 1972. These things were really awesome IMO. I wish they still made them.

I used to tap into the phono on stereos and get ear screeching noise til I figured out not to turn the device volume to high. Think my other receiver has a resistor it doesn't have that screaming issue, unless I run bass boost.
@kanito107
Would you have a suggestion on one of these not spinning?
