Steve Miller could take a basic arrangement with minimal instrumentation (rhythm guitar, bass and drums), add his vocals to it and crank out a hit song. Take the Money and Run and Serenade are other examples. A heavy, driving four-on-the-floor rhythm is what propelled these songs. This is classic rock at its finest.

I remember this song from when I used to work at a Walgreens in the early 2000s. They’d play it over their Muzak system. Me and co-worker (we were both seniors in high school) would sing the chorus to this but change it to “You keep on rockin’ my/these nuts bay-be!”

I was really blessed, My brother worked as a manager for the Record Bar , and he had 100s of demonstration not for sale, & of course he had a real nice audio set up with these speakers that cost a 1000$$$ a pc and boy I got to hear a lot of great music, from my sister & he which were older than I to the new up coming I would get high & listen to all the albums all the way through from all the Beatles to the first Tom Petty & the Heart Breakers
