The Stone Roses released their second album, Second Coming, in 1994, which received mixed reviews. The group soon disbanded after several line-up changes throughout the supporting tour, which began with Reni departing in early 1995, followed by Squire in April 1996. Brown and Mani dissolved the remains of the group in October 1996 following their appearance at Reading Festival.
Following much intensified media speculation, the Stone Roses called a press conference on 18 October 2011 to announce that the band had reunited and would perform a reunion world tour in 2012, including three homecoming shows in Heaton Park, Manchester. Plans to record a third album in the future were also floated but only two singles were released. In June 2012, Chris Coghill, the writer of a new film which is set during the Stone Roses 1990 Spike Island show, revealed that the band "have at least three or four new tracks recorded". In June 2013, a documentary about the band's reformation directed by Shane Meadows and titled The Stone Roses: Made of Stone was released.
In 2016, the Stone Roses released their first new material in two decades. The band members continued to tour until June 2017, at which point cryptic remarks by Brown indicated the band had split again, which was later confirmed in a 2019 interview with Squire.

Bye Bye Bad Man
The Stone Roses Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Will you drown me in your sea
Submission ends and I begin
Choke me smoke the air
In this citrus sucking sunshine
I don't care you're not all there
Every backbone and heart you break
Submission ends it all
Here he come
Got no question got no love
I'm throwing stones at you man
I want you black and blue and
I'm gonna make you bleed
Gonna bring you down to your knees
Bye bye badman
Ooh bye bye
Choke me smoke the air
In this citrus sucking sunshine
I don't care you're not all there
You've been bought and paid
You're a whore and a slave
Your dark star holy shrine
Come taste the end you're mine
Here he come
Got no question got no love
I'm throwing stones at you man
I want you black and blue and
I'm gonna make you bleed
Gonna bring you down to your knees
Bye bye badman
Ooh bye bye
I've got bad intention
I intend to
Knock you down
These stones I throw
Oh these French kisses
Are the only way I've found
I've got bad intention
I intend to knock you down
These stones I throw
Oh these French kisses
Are the only way I've found
The Stone Roses's 1990 record "Bye Bye Badman" is a psychedelic rock poem about liberation from oppression and an uprising against the establishment. The lyrics offer a sense of personal and societal revolution. The song opens with a plea to be fully immersed in someone's passion, to the point of drowning. The desire for submission hits a limit that leads to a new beginning. The chorus reports that every struggle and disappointment, every step backwards, is inevitable, but will not diminish the will to carry on. The title "Bye Bye Bad Man" invites the audience to express a farewell to what is terrible for them, to face their abuser and to bring them down to their knees.

They were baggy pioneers and as you said had the problems with Silvertone and their accountant ripping them off for hundreds of grands....
As you said, negative influences and downright criminality robbed the Roses of mucho money but more importantly,
THEY deserved the fame and careers Oasis had which had the demise of the Roses not occurred then maybe Oasis would not have reached World domination status ( as they most definitely did circa 1996 )
It is what it is and in the end we got 2 Roses Albums ( plus a Bsides album )
AND
We had Oasis and their take on the evolving Madchester scene which ultimately spawned #Britpop whichfir me was #Blur, #Pulp, #Supergrass #Bluetones #Cast - great times and #ThanksForTheMemories

@kaguth that's insane that you still return to this. I mean I don't blame you, but to maintain the same account the whole while and find the same exact video and the same content over a decade later is a bit sweet to me. No matter how much time passes, some things never change. There's comfort in that
