1) a UK psychedelic-folk duo
2) an American duo
3) a modern jazz band
1. The Story (UK)
The Story is a UK psychedelic-folk duo made up Martin Welham and his son Tom. They have released 3 albums - 2 on CD and the other on 12” vinyl.
Their first release was a vinyl split with US alt-folk band Whysp in 2005 entitled ‘The Dawn Is Crowned’. Their first full-length album ‘Tale Spin’ was released on Sunbeam Records in 2006 and was followed by ‘Arcane Rising’ in 2007. The Story contributed 2 tracks to the dark folk compilation ‘John Barleycorn Reborn’ (Cold Spring Records, 2008),with the foreboding song ‘The Wicker Man’ and the ritualistic ‘All Hallow’s Eve’.
The Story’s sound is steeped in the best traditions of the heyday of the acid-folk genre - the 1960s. Their sound has a timeless melodic quality and their voices blend richly.
2. The Story (Boston, USA)
The Story was the duo of Jonatha Brooke and Jennifer Kimball, recording and performing in the late 80s and early 90s. The two met at Amherst College and subsequently produced two albums: Grace in Gravity and The Angel in the House. Their sound is characterized by their sometimes dissonant, always gorgeous, close vocal harmonies and poignant lyrics (often telling a great story). They have since both embarked on solo careers, Jonatha more successfully. After a couple of albums as Jonatha Brooke & The Story, she switched to just her name.
3. The Story
The Story is also the name of a little-known modern jazz band. Musicians include John Escreet on piano, Samir Zarif on tenor saxophone, Zack Lober on bass, and Greg Ritchie on drums. The band has played with alto saxophonist Lars Dietrich. The band has one self-titled album available on iTunes.
The Story is also an APM Podcast.

I see you, belle of the ball and
hometown sweetheart, gifted
I want to tell you seize this day,
Let someone else go tend tradition,
Take what's yours
No one else can tell your fire, paint with your words,
sing with your voice,
Amelia, I see you all in white and lovely, blinded, by love
And he too, is beautiful, and young, and blind
I want to tell you he's the wrong man, you'll look
Back
You were told that this is what you want, but it will hurt you
(You can't live for someone else)
But you live
For me
For me
For me
He would do things to make your life easier
but never talk to you - know you at all
You were his showpiece,
charming as you entertained all his fancies
I wish I could have seized that day and torn it
from your history
(For me)
Now it comes down to a life that might have soared
(for me)
But I can tell your fire, paint with your words,
sing with your voice
Nobody can take what's mine
From me
From me
From me
From me
The Story's song Amelia is a poignant reflection on the choices we make in life and how they affect our future. The song addresses Amelia, a single and charming woman from a small town in 1957. The singer speaks of Amelia as someone who has a lot of talent and potential but is held back by her adherence to traditional norms. She urges Amelia to seize the day and take what is hers, urging her not to follow the path that has been laid out for her.
The song takes a turn as the singer talks about Amelia's beau, who is young and beautiful but not the right man for her. The singer laments that Amelia was told that this is what she wants, but it will hurt her in the end. By dedicating the line "You live for me" multiple times, the singer suggests that Amelia's true calling lies in something other than being a showpiece for her partner.
The song is a reminder of the importance of making one's own choices and pursuing what truly sets your soul on fire. It encourages listeners to stay true to themselves, use their unique talents, and not let anyone else try to live their lives for them.

As I have said elsewhere you will be VERY LUCKY to go out with a so called "plus-sized" girl. Let me explain why. I am a personal trainer and I specialize in women's fitness. I also specialize in those being listed for weight loss surgery.
Firstly ladies. If you are overweight and you get in shape and a partner only shows interest when you're in shape when they've previously bullied you then show them the door. If someone is not with you during your cold dark nights of winter, they don't deserve to be with you during your warm summer days. Now let me explain.
Have you seen Captain America the First Avenger? A scientist devised a serum to make an average man 10-20 times stronger. Steve Rogers was chosen for the serum because he was a 7 stone weakling with asthma and polio. He'd never known health, strength, and fitness. So when he took the serum and became a superman he'd never abuse his powers and would have compassion for those who never had it. I am training a load of "plus-sized" women to be personal trainers for the same reason.
A so called "plus-sized" girlfriend would sadly have been fat-shamed like above. All she's known is rejection and ill-treatment. You show her respect and love and she'll treat you like a King. In return, I would ask you to treat her like a Queen. She'll stick with you through thick and thin- this assumes you treat her like a Queen. Of course, if she wants to get into shape then you should exercise together.
The grass is not greener on the other side. The grass is greener on the side you pay most loving attention to.
One thing I recommend all couples do is one day a month to take a break from one another. Then you'll realize what you are missing. I also recommend once a month you have a date night and NOTHING should get in the way of that.
A super-slim lady can take her pick of the men. Anything goes wrong and she could be tempted to dump you faster than you can imagine because she can have any man she likes.
There is also a BIG difference between good health and being slim. If you are overweight my advice is to find a good personal trainer and follow their program.
I always tell my clients that for the first 4-6 weeks they'll gain more lean muscle and thus gain weight but they'll lose more fat in the long run because muscle weighs more than fat. However muscle burns a lot of calories!
However never forget if someone is not with you during your cold dark nights of winter, they don't deserve to be with you during your warm summer days.

She's actually a pretty girl. Despite what she went through, I'm glad she didn't give up on life. Big respect to Shaun for sticking by her side despite not having the support of family and friends. That's true love ❤️. Keep it growing and getting stronger. Blessings to you both.

I know how it is and what it is to experience other peoples abuse and cruelty and extreme meanness because I experienced these things myself also when I was a young girl and going to school so I know firsthand and genuinely understand all of the things that you've experienced and how it felt when people were saying extremely cruel terribly and extremely hurtful terribly things to you.I think the facts that you never became either a bitter or extremely bitter and either a cruel or extremely cruel and an either extremely mean or mean person yourself because of the terrible emotional and verbal abuse that you experienced courtesy of other people and the fact that you never gave up on life ever and that you came to accept yourself as you are and that you remained true to yourself says a great deal about your character and your courage and your inner strength and about the kind of person that you genuinely are which is a beautiful, courageous, kind, and loving and truly remarkable person and young woman who came to accept herself as she is and who accepted love from someone who genuinely accepts her and who genuinely loves her as she is.And I think that yours and Shaun's love story is beautiful and definitely inspiring and heart touching and really wonderful. Also, both you and Shaun and the love that you genuinely feel and have for each other and your love story all touched both me and my heart both deeply and greatly.God bless both of you greatly and I wish both of you a lifetime of happiness and joy and laughter and love and many smiles.

Nobody went to their wedding? Oh my goodness! How heartbreaking is that? I would have went to their wedding! That is so mean! The whole story was fantastic! Love it!!!
Michael Smith
My question, did they choose not to go, or did the couple not invite anyone because of the issue? The reason I say that is because why didn't her parents go, they sounded supportive. I think some context might have been left out.
