1) - The Stryder was a band hailing from Long Island, NY. The Band was formed by Peter Toh and Scottie Redix (aka Cassonova Brown) in 1999 after their previous project, Yearly, disbanded following the departure of bassist Eben D'amico who left to join Saves the Day. They added a vocalist and bassist, John Johansen and Nick Wendel (Respectively). They released a 7" on Elkion Records titled "The Hits Just Keep on Comin" and shortly after signed a deal to Equal Vision Records and released their debut album "Masquerade in the Key of Crime" in the summer of 2000. The band toured extensively and began writing new material in 2001. They added former Glassjaw drummer Durijah Lang, and moved Scottie Redix up to Guitar and backing vocals. In the summer of 2001 the band parted ways with vocalist John Johansen. 2002 saw the release of "Jungle City Twitch". Debuting a new sound, The Stryder continued to tour the country in support of the new release before disbanding in February of 2003. In 2003/2004, Elkion Records released "Savor The Danger" which contained a collection of old demos and the 2 songs from the 7" previously released on the label. Peter released his first solo EP "Cleopatra" in 2004 on Elkion Records. Durijah moved on to become the drummer of Classic Case and has also returned to Glassjaw. Scottie is now doing a solo project under the name Cassonova Brown. In 2006, Peter then went on to start his own record label, Hidden Track Music Group, and released a solo EP titled "Shoes of a Beast". Little Electric
The Stryder Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
you're falling from the sky
one think I know
is you'll pull through
somtimes it feels like we're from the moon
cus we're not used to all
this gravity pressing down on all
all of the things we do
it's a little electric
it's a mystery
but love is the potion that will cure all of your disease
when shit gets hectic just stay close to me
it might be the only way we might not be lonely
I'm feeling around in here
stuck in your atmosphere
I can't forget this year
it was a mess
but this mess is crystal clear
and baby you snuffed my fears
and baby you dried all my tears
and we gotta keep going on
go on
the moon comes up and night but
it's you that keeps lighting me up
you keep lighting me up
you keep lighting me up
you keep lighting me up
you keep lighting me up
(chorus 2x)
The Stryder's song "Little Electric" is about a relationship that is full of ups and downs, but in the end, love is the ultimate cure for any problems that arise. The lyrics suggest that the singer is feeling overwhelmed and melting down inside, while their partner is falling from the sky. They acknowledge that sometimes they feel like they are from a different world, not used to the pressures of reality and the "gravity pressing down on all." Despite these challenges, the singer is confident that they will pull through together, as they are stronger together than they are alone.
The love between the two is described as a little electric and a mystery, but it is also the potion that will cure all of their diseases. When things get hectic, staying close to each other is the only way they may not be lonely. The singer acknowledges that they have been through a lot this year, but their relationship has helped them overcome their fears and tears. They are determined to keep going and not give up. The moon comes up at night, but it's their partner that keeps lighting them up.
Overall, "Little Electric" is a song about the power of love and how it can help us overcome any obstacles in life. The lyrics are poetic and relatable, conveying a sense of hope and optimism that is very inspiring.
