1) - The Stryder was a band hailing from Long Island, NY. The Band was formed by Peter Toh and Scottie Redix (aka Cassonova Brown) in 1999 after their previous project, Yearly, disbanded following the departure of bassist Eben D'amico who left to join Saves the Day. They added a vocalist and bassist, John Johansen and Nick Wendel (Respectively). They released a 7" on Elkion Records titled "The Hits Just Keep on Comin" and shortly after signed a deal to Equal Vision Records and released their debut album "Masquerade in the Key of Crime" in the summer of 2000. The band toured extensively and began writing new material in 2001. They added former Glassjaw drummer Durijah Lang, and moved Scottie Redix up to Guitar and backing vocals. In the summer of 2001 the band parted ways with vocalist John Johansen. 2002 saw the release of "Jungle City Twitch". Debuting a new sound, The Stryder continued to tour the country in support of the new release before disbanding in February of 2003. In 2003/2004, Elkion Records released "Savor The Danger" which contained a collection of old demos and the 2 songs from the 7" previously released on the label. Peter released his first solo EP "Cleopatra" in 2004 on Elkion Records. Durijah moved on to become the drummer of Classic Case and has also returned to Glassjaw. Scottie is now doing a solo project under the name Cassonova Brown. In 2006, Peter then went on to start his own record label, Hidden Track Music Group, and released a solo EP titled "Shoes of a Beast". Hidden Track is currently being run by Peter, along with friends Adam Schleichkorn, and James Catusco, and are currently working on Peter's first full-length album, titled "Wildlife".

the sky was a different shade of blue
did I sleep too long?
this early morning can't be true
where do I go?
this is all unfamiliar and I don't know how
but it goes to show
we didn't know what we had until now
but if we try
to come together all as one
to reunite
this harmony, love conquers all
was it worth the fight?
look at you now you got answers?
cus we want answers
with a battle cry
we send this out to you
your day will come
this I'm sure
new enemy
you think we'll soon forget no not at all
your day will come
this I'm sure
new enemy
cus what we had is now all gone this means war
before today
I've seen better days
in back of me
but in front of me I see doom
and winter just won't get in back of me
it's so foolish to think of all the times
I was feeling down
cus this is my time to live
I won't be spending it thinking about dying
you're so foolish
you're so foolish
I can't believe what's on TV
they found the seams and pulled the strings
(chorus)
The song "New Enemy" by The Stryder depicts a person who wakes up feeling disoriented and confused, as if they have been asleep for too long. This feeling is matched by a realization that everything has changed - the sky is a different shade of blue and the world around them is unfamiliar. The lyrics suggest that this change is the result of a conflict or battle, and that the person is only now understanding the true value of what they once had. However, the song also suggests that there is hope for healing and unity, if people are willing to come together and work towards a common goal.
The chorus of the song serves as a call to action, encouraging listeners to stand up for what they believe in and fight against those who seek to tear them apart. The lyrics use strong language and imagery to convey a sense of urgency and passion, with lines like "this means war" and "your day will come". Overall, the song can be interpreted as a plea for unity and a warning against complacency, reminding listeners that they must stay vigilant and fight to preserve the things they hold dear.
