1) - The Stryder was a band hailing from Long Island, NY. The Band was formed by Peter Toh and Scottie Redix (aka Cassonova Brown) in 1999 after their previous project, Yearly, disbanded following the departure of bassist Eben D'amico who left to join Saves the Day. They added a vocalist and bassist, John Johansen and Nick Wendel (Respectively). They released a 7" on Elkion Records titled "The Hits Just Keep on Comin" and shortly after signed a deal to Equal Vision Records and released their debut album "Masquerade in the Key of Crime" in the summer of 2000. The band toured extensively and began writing new material in 2001. They added former Glassjaw drummer Durijah Lang, and moved Scottie Redix up to Guitar and backing vocals. In the summer of 2001 the band parted ways with vocalist John Johansen. 2002 saw the release of "Jungle City Twitch". Debuting a new sound, The Stryder continued to tour the country in support of the new release before disbanding in February of 2003. In 2003/2004, Elkion Records released "Savor The Danger" which contained a collection of old demos and the 2 songs from the 7" previously released on the label. Peter released his first solo EP "Cleopatra" in 2004 on Elkion Records. Durijah moved on to become the drummer of Classic Case and has also returned to Glassjaw. Scottie is now doing a solo project under the name Cassonova Brown. In 2006, Peter then went on to start his own record label, Hidden Track Music Group, and released a solo EP titled "Shoes of a Beast". Hidden Track is currently being run by Peter, along with friends Adam Schleichkorn, and James Catusco, and are currently working on Peter's first full-length album, titled "Wildlife".

Then a man comes up to me and says I've been
filling some sort of discription
But I said,
"this ain't my style
it's just a disguise.
Here is my face,
but where are my eyes?"
Frozen in time
I'm in your stereo
and I feel so fine
This is the time
This is the place
Right in front of your face
And I've got to let you know
everything comes back around in circles
and then you've got to let go
This isn't happening or is it happening?
I need some satisfaction will that happen?
Questioning you keep on questioning
When you need answering why aren't you answering?
Forget your questions and get some answers
Slow down you'll get there faster
Everybody's got their problems baby
but you probably shouldn't sweat it
You shouldn't sweat it
I keep forgetting yesterday happened
I keep forgetting yesterday happened
I keep forgetting yesterday happened
Will it happen one more time again?
I'm in your stereo
This is the time
This is the place
Right in front of your face
And I've got to let you know
everything comes back around in circles
and then you've got to let go
Everything goes in circles
in circles
Everything goes
in circles
then she said, "hey boy
I see you're in need
I've got my own place now.
There's no one here but me.
Do you wanna come inside now?
Out from the cold.
We could sit by the fire
get you out of these wet clothes.
You see that's not my style.
It's hard to believe
you came in here walking.
You left on your knees."
The Stryder's song "This Is The Time" is a reflection on the ups and downs of life and how time moves in circles. The opening lines suggest that the singer has been working hard for a long time and is feeling the effects of it. However, when someone confronts him about his behavior and implies that he fits a particular stereotype or description, he rejects the notion and insists that it's not his true self. He poses the question of where his eyes are, suggesting that he's not seeing things clearly.
Despite feeling lost and confused, the singer still finds solace in music and skating, which is where he feels the most free and alive. The chorus acknowledges that everything comes full circle, and at some point, we have to let go and move on. The second verse is more introspective and focused on the uncertainty of life. The singer is searching for answers but only seems to be left with more questions. He realizes that he needs to stop questioning and start finding solutions. The repetition of "yesterday happened" highlights how easily we can get caught up in our past mistakes and miss what's happening in the present.
The song's final verse takes a darker turn, with the singer being propositioned by a woman to come inside and escape the cold. He rejects her offer, emphasizing that it's not his style to take advantage of someone's kindness. The final line, "you left on your knees," suggests that he's been knocked down but is still finding the strength to stand back up.
