A worried man with a worried mind
No one in front of me and nothing behind
There's a woman on my lap and she's drinking champagne
Got white skin, got assassin's eyes
I'm looking up into the sapphire tinted skies
I'm well dressed, waiting on the last train

Standing on the gallows with my head in a noose
Any minute now I'm expecting all hell to break loose

People are crazy and times are strange
I'm locked in tight, I'm out of range
I used to care, but things have changed

This place ain't doing me any good
I'm in the wrong town, I should be in Hollywood
Just for a second there I thought I saw something move
Gonna take dancing lessons do the jitterbug rag
Ain't no shortcuts, gonna dress in drag
Only a fool in here would think he's got anything to prove

Lot of water under the bridge, Lot of other stuff too
Don't get up gentlemen, I'm only passing through

I've been walking forty miles of bad road
If the bible is right, the world will explode
I've been trying to get as far away from myself as I can
Some things are too hot to touch
The human mind can only stand so much
You can't win with a losing hand

Feel like falling in love with the first woman I meet
Putting her in a wheel barrow and wheeling her down the street

I've been walking forty miles of bad road
If the bible is right, the world will explode
I've been trying to get as far away from myself as I can
Some things are too hot to touch
The human mind can only stand so much
You can't win with a losing hand

I hurt easy, I just don't show it
You can hurt someone and not even know it
The next sixty seconds could be like an eternity
Gonna get low down, gonna fly high
All the truth in the world adds up to one big lie
I'm love with a woman who don't even appeal to me

Mr. Jinx and Miss Lucy, they jumped in the lake
I'm not that eager to make a mistake

I've been walking forty miles of bad road
If the bible is right, the world will explode
I've been trying to get as far away from myself as I can
Some things are too hot to touch
The human mind can only stand so much
You can't win with a losing hand

So what can I offer deep enough and genuine my life takes me to the fringe, too far beyond the pale to ever lose color again...
Dynamite To Light Your Candles
Awake, aware and home at last!
3 days up and blasting past.
Out my cage and break my chains.
Give the sages my remains.
Can’t stop yet, and got to move it,
coming slow, you know you love it…

Every next day I stay awake,
close the distance I must make.
I’m here alone so send the drones…
call me on long distance saxophone.
Says sleep is urgent now I must be ready,
Nah, says I, I’m rockin’ steady…

4 days up, eyes glazed and red.
Typhoon winds of fear and dread,
Blows so fast, this laughter in my head.
Tie me to the mast, or we’re all dead!

5 days awake and blasting past;
Got no worries, move me fast!
Out my cage and break my chains.
Give the sages my remains.

Can’t stop me yet, gotta move it;
coming slow and gotta love it.
Got no treason, got no reason;
just a longshot of the season.
Rebelle jusqu a’ la fin!!!
Hmmm, all this fun now hug your kittens.
Be back soon with oven mittens;
I’m sizzlin’ hot and hard to handle.
Dynamite to light your candles.

based on a true life experience, challenged by pirates we left their ship in splinters with death upon a Grey Mare, over the salty ocean carved rocks that mark the Cape. I ride the fringe.

@mark1952able Yes most definitely! There is a genuine grit and gravel, somehow still their own style, smooth, and that is a rare mix to succeed with. I really do adore the strings as well, this song choogles on like a slow train... chaos being an order perhaps above us, these lyrics have been as real as living in a suspect B-western movie. That I do, is my own strange circumstance. The clarity, being very different from the stylings of Betty L., Curtis S, and of course, Bobby Z himself- puts a unique focus on the actual meaning, as if more poetic than lyrical, Mr. Peeples and Ms. Mac together truly make it ring.

Wishing you the best, stay safe and be wise, there will be much to fix. And we shall. We always do. I have gotten myself in another situation. I came upon a town in India, looks fit to become a termination center, so I gave notice to the G and sure enough, there was a man appeared in my city, looking for me, a man with bad intents, came over from Nelore. He will hunt no more. The DOD showed him the door -out. I continue to function as a man of peace, yet not all have that interest. Many just turn deadly. I will make out when I take out my assassins. Then I wish I could say I will no longer be a Field Agent of Accords, ceasefires eventually all fall apart; yet time has shown me, I've no choice. It is my nature and what's in my heart. This human condition we take so for granted, it needs to be a global value. Instead, we are assets, we are taxes, we are the flame that fiddles and we are the axes. I like songs of substance, songs or writings I can feel like Braille, that make me think differently about many issues from freedom to political jail.

Yes, more people need to hear Peeples and Mac!!! This song bites down to the marrow. Impact in tact, it will still apply 100 years from now, as it would 100 years ago. Good writing does that. Great delivery makes it have that impact, so I will be on the lookout for more of People's work.

This "shelter in place" circumstance has given me a bit of time to rest, reflect and so many phone calls, my family and my friends are not always strong about challenges such that no amount of wealth can make a safety net. As such, and suddenly, I am told my brothers all now relate to living in threat. I never felt that way. I still do not. This invisible enemy, it will be beaten. Some who lost millions have lost less than others who have lost family and friends, and others still, whose losses may not seem much, yet to them, is all by ratio- the bills that come must be addressed. I have been only so effective in sharing my faith and strength. It must come from within. Many I know, have lived so very entitled. The lives and success that has been arranged, was never in question. As the song says, Things Have Changed, and we must change as well.

Uh- sorry 'bout my pondering, been on calls while tapping keys. It helps me focus, and some have this -the automatic writing, visions, dreams to be built not just imagined. We read ourselves and that is like seeing from a whole new view. Hmmm... one for you, from a friend.

"Deja View"
Spiritual pilgrims,
we ride the fringe;
dancing destiny
into grace…
we are sure of
an unseen force.

The face of fortune
is my face.

Fate my friend
may be as a perpetual stranger,
never less than familiar.

For we have been
exactly here before
in the visions we have since realized…

Love this combination. Grant's low, bluesy tones, Sarah Mac's sultry vocals perfectly complement each other. Wonderful stuff.
