[1] The O.C. Supertones (a.k.a. The Supertones) were a Christian ska band hailing from Orange County, California. The O.C. stands for Orange County and was formally used to differentiate them from another group, but they generally were referred to as The Supertones by fans and publicity, especially as of their second album. The band was formerly signed to Tooth & Nail Records before becoming an independent band for its final tour. Beginning with a more traditional ska sound, the Supertones moved next to a harder rock sound, which eventually changed again with more of a pop-rock influence.
The band began in the early 1990s as Saved. Originally formed by Matt Morginsky, Jason Carson and Tony Terusa while in Junior High School, the band played a mix of many styles including punk, rap, metal, disco, and funk. In 1995 they formed as The Orange County Supertones and settled on a ska based sound.
In the late 1990s The Supertones achieved wide popularity in the Christian and secular community. Their second album, 1997's release Supertones Strike Back, was a surprise smash hit, peaking on both Billboard's Heatseekers and Top Christian Albums charts at 3 and 2 respectively. Beginning with a more traditional ska sound, The Supertones moved next to a harder rock sound, which eventually changed again with more of a pop-rock influence. Their next two albums, 1999's Chase the Sun and 2000's Loud and Clear, each charted on the Billboard 200 chart. They continued to release albums until 2005, at which point they went on indefinite hiatus. This ended when they reunited for some shows in 2010. Since then they have had stints in 2012 and 2017, performing various reunion and anniversary shows. Their 2017 commemoration of the 20th anniversary of their most well-received album "Supertones Strike Back" was presented as a definitive "final show".
[2] The Supertones are an "instrumental surf" band from NYC active since 1988. They have released at least 12 albums.

Driving the same highway
Leaving behind everything
And everyone you love
The cost to pay
To tell the world of jesus
Hoping that these bridges burned
Will not be just in vain
It helps to think that somewhere
You're feeling just the same
And don't take even
A moment for granted
Don't lose heart
When the world crashes down
How many miles ahead?
I can't count the ones behind
To all the friends that we've collected
All the people we respect
For the hope and joy
We made this up and wrote it down
And dedicate this song to you
No turning back
And can't say that I regret it
When every day
God's promises testify themselves
Sometimes it's hard
And the road keeps stretching longer
Tonight my wife's a longing voice
On a holiday inn phone
How many miles ahead?
I can't count the ones behind
I wish you god's speed, friend
You're always on my mind
Will you remember me, say
Seven years from now?
And where will we be then?
Well, I'm here for you now
The Supertones song Dedication is a song about the trials and tribulations of being a traveling musician spreading the good word of Jesus. The lyrics speak of the sacrifices and costs that come with leaving behind everything and everyone you love in order to dedicate your life to spreading the message of Jesus. The journey is long and hard, but it helps to know that somewhere, someone else is feeling the same way. The lyrics encourage the listener to not take any moment for granted, especially when the world crashes down around them.
The song also speaks of the many miles traveled on the journey, both ahead and behind, and the many friends and people along the way who have been collected and respected. The hope and joy along the way were made into the song, and it is dedicated to those people. The song notes that there is no turning back on this journey, and the sacrifices made were not regrets, as every day God's promises testify themselves.
The lyrics also mention the difficult times when the road seems to keep stretching longer, and the comfort of a loved one's voice on the phone in a hotel room. The song wishes the listener God's speed, as they are always on the songwriter's mind, and wonders where they will be seven years from now. The song ultimately ends with the reassurance that the songwriter is here for the listener now.
