Prompt GPT-4:
write a plot for a compelling dramatic scifi movie that takes place in a retrofuturistic setting. The plotline should be standard for a bestselling blockbuster movie.

Response:

Title: "Neon Horizon"

In a shimmering retrofuturistic world of the late 21st century, progress and nostalgia merge, creating a backdrop of Art Deco skyscrapers, neon lights, and atomic-age technology. Hovercars navigate through complex lanes in the sky while vintage tunes spill out from vinyl-playing jukeboxes in chrome-plated diners.

Our protagonist, Ava Starling, is a hardboiled private investigator, well-known for her razor-sharp intuition and unyielding moral compass. Ava is deeply cynical of the utopian society around her and yearns for something more authentic than the neon facade of her city. One day, Ava receives a mysterious case from the enigmatic billionaire, Victor Ward, who tasks her with finding his missing daughter, Rose. Rose, a brilliant scientist, disappeared following her research into a groundbreaking but potentially dangerous technology called "Quantum Echo," which claims to manipulate time.

As Ava delves into Rose's disappearance, she stumbles upon a series of anomalies and uncovers the darker side of her neon utopia. Ava discovers that Rose's research was not merely theoretical - the Quantum Echo exists, and Rose had activated it before vanishing. The device has caused ripples in time, creating temporal paradoxes that Ava must navigate.

Navigating a world that is rapidly alternating between past, present, and future states, Ava has to uncover the truth about Rose's disappearance and the implications of her research. She is joined by Leon, a cynical yet principled policeman from a simpler time, accidentally pulled into the future by the Quantum Echo's first activation.

During her journey, Ava experiences the initial promise of her world and the ensuing decay, reinforcing her suspicions about the superficial utopia she inhabits. She discovers that Victor had intended to use the Quantum Echo to monopolize time itself, aiming to correct past mistakes to benefit his present, no matter the cost to the space-time continuum.

As the Quantum Echo begins destabilizing, threatening to erase the city from existence, Ava and Leon must locate Rose and deactivate the device. Along the way, they face Victor's corporate goons, time disoriented citizens, and an increasingly volatile reality.

In a thrilling climax, Ava confronts Victor and manages to reactivate the Quantum Echo one last time, rescuing Rose from a time-stuck limbo and resetting the timeline to before the device's activation. However, Ava pays the ultimate price for stability and gets trapped in the limbo herself. The movie ends with a bittersweet tone, with Leon and Rose promising to find a way to rescue Ava, leaving the possibility of a sequel open.

"Neon Horizon" is a thrilling blend of mystery, drama, and science fiction, offering a unique take on time manipulation, retrofuturistic aesthetics, and the exploration of a protagonist who is a stranger in her own city. The film tackles themes of truth, morality, and the cost of unchecked technological advancement, keeping audiences on the edge of their seats till the very end.

It's like watching a dream.

It's both amazing and concerning at the same time

Mac User

I wonder if you would be able to recreate your own dreams like this then?

Priyanshu Mallick

@Mac User I somewhere once read that there was an ML project that looked at our brain waves and kinda roughly map them to what we see while we are awake. And when we go to sleep and reach our REM state (the stage in our sleep cycle where we see dreams) it tries to correlate our brain waves created in the prefrontal cortex of our brain (the part most responsible for vision-related stuff) and tries to guess what we are seeing in the dream.

Pretty cool and scary research.

@Sarah Rebecca me too... I always say that dreams are like a private screening of a personalized bizarre movie that your subconscious is the director of.

Why can AI recreate the feeling and look of dreams so crazily accurate

Michael Ranger

Personally, I suspect it's that the technology works a lot like our brains do when we dream by mixing a bunch of stuff together in a cohesive way.

@Michael Ranger eu também suspeito da mesma coisa, eu sonhei com mão humana e teve vários detalhes fora da caixinha .... é muito estranho porém no estamos fazendo uma espécie de vida artificial então?

utube is alright

Because it's dreaming.
