Price and Naughton first started collaborating together writing songs for Price's 2004 Geffen Records debut -- a CD that spawned Price's single "I'm on my way", featured on the multi-platinum Shrek 2 soundtrack.
Over the course of several late-night jam-sessions (and despite their obvious geographical challenges), the three discovered a musical blend and kinship that quickly overwhelmed the obstacles (and solo careers) to form The Sweet Remains. The band has been winning fans across the country, headlining venues ranging from L.A.'s "Hotel Cafe" to Austin's SXSW to New York's "Joe's Pub". Their debut CD is 'Laurel & Sunset' (2009).

The Sweet Remains's song Spark describes the power of love in our lives. It starts with a line someone told the singer once, where they said that "love is like a blindfold, it's a shot in the dark." This means that we cannot predict or control whom we are going to fall in love with, but once we do, the sparks fly. The singer describes how he felt "back to the wall" before meeting the person he loves but then began opening up straight from the heart, and he saw a spark in her eyes, that was a sign of love, passion, and connection.
The lyrics shift to the next verse, where the singer recalls something someone else told him when he was just a boy. The person said that when you have something good, you have to hold on to it and never let it go. This means that the singer wants the girl he loves to stay with him and be his spark. The next verse describes how the singer felt lost and couldn't see through the woods for the trees, but the girl he loves was the light that shone through the darkness and was always there with him, inside his heart.
The song concludes with the singer expressing his feelings for the girl and how he wants her to remember that she is the one who brought love and light into his life when he felt lost and frozen, and she will always be his spark.
