Here in Germany, nobody loses their voting right because they are convicted felons. In fact, the law foresees the right of prisons to install voting booths for their convicts, although in reality, that doesn't happen very often and most people who are in prison vote by mail.

We here in Toledo, Ohio, spent 3 days without running water due to blue-green algae. That's what happens when you have a water treatment plant that has been severely neglected since the end of WWII. Every year since, we spend the summer praying we get through it without another water crisis. The worst part about the whole ordeal is that the algae breach was detected before most people were even awake, so there were a lot of people who got sick using the water before they got the news. My friend lost her doggos because of that. It's very serious, deadly stuff.

Thoughts by me I know there were state elections for both Queensland and ACT, and probably a number of local elections, but how exactly they worked isn't somthing I'm too familiar with - I'm actually living in New Zealand at the moment, and my mail-in ballot for Qld state election arrived the day after results were declared. >:(

That being said, I've never seen massive lines for voting places - there's usually plenty around the electorates, and early voting and mail-in ballots are were option for those who wanted it. IIRC, the only thing we lost during the last yearwere the usual cakes and democracy sausages that get sold at the polling places.

My (Cuban) aunt + cousin's just left Florida to live in Ireland. My cousin has 2 little girls and he says it's too crazy + dangerous for them.

They're not particularly conservatives or anything else. Not political, just want to live in peace. My cousin married an Irish girl, 5 years ago. He's trying to start a business in Ireland. My poor aunt is bored to tears, stuck in the country. Hopefully now they're vaccinnated, she can do church activities etc.
Edit : they think trump is insane. And FLA too. Not a political stance, just from observation. LOL
