1. The Temptations … Read Full Bio ↴The Temptations may refer to at least two groups
1. The Temptations are an American Motown singing group whose repertoire has included doo-wop, soul, psychedelia, funk, disco, rnb, and adult contemporary. Formed in Detroit, Michigan in 1960 as The Elgins. The group, known for its finely tuned choreography, distinct harmonies, and stylish suits, has been said to be as influential to soul as The Beatles are to rock. Having sold an estimated 22 million albums by 1982, The Temptations are one of the most successful groups in black music history and were the definitive male vocal group of the 1960s. In addition, they have the second-longest tenure on Motown (behind Stevie Wonder), as they were with the label for a total of 40 years: 16 years from 1961 to 1977, and 24 more from 1980 to 2004 (from 1977 to 1980, they were signed to Atlantic Records). As of 2005, The Temptations continue to perform for Universal Records with only one original member, founder Otis Williams, in its lineup.
Like its sister group The Supremes, The Temptations' lineup has changed frequently over the years. The original group included members of two local Detroit vocal groups: second tenor/baritone Otis Williams, first tenor Elbridge Bryant and bass Melvin Franklin from The Distants; and first tenor/falsetto Eddie Kendricks and second tenor/baritone Paul Williams (no relation to Otis) from The Primes. Among the most notable future Temptations were lead singers David Ruffin and Dennis Edwards (both of whom became successful Motown solo artists after leaving the group, as did Kendricks), Richard Street (another former Distant), Damon Harris, Ron Tyson, Ali-Ollie Woodson, Theo Peoples, and G.C. Cameron.
Over the course of their career, The Temptations have released four number-one pop hit singles and 14 number-one R&B hit singles, and their material has earned them three Grammy Awards. Most of the early Temptations hits, including "The Way You Do the Things You Do", "My Girl", and "Get Ready" were written and produced by Smokey Robinson and other members of The Miracles, while composer/producer Norman Whitfield and lyricists Eddie Holland and Barrett Strong crafted most of the group's later hits, including "Ain't Too Proud to Beg", "I Wish It Would Rain", "Cloud Nine", "I Can't Get Next to You", "Just My Imagination (Running Away with Me)", and "Papa Was a Rollin' Stone".
2. There was also a 50s doo-wop group from New York named the Temptations. They are best remembered for their 1960 top 40 hit "Barbara. After this hit, lead singer Neil Stevens went solo.

On, no
Na, na, na, na, na, na, yeah:ah:ah:yeah:yeah:
Just to feel your body, your sensual desire
You know my heart goes crazy when your tender lips touch mine
Let's explore our love and the candlelight and wine
We'll leave the world behind, baby
[Girl, do you believe] In the miracle of love
[Would you try and see] I'm the one you're dreamin' of
[Baby, close your eyes] Let the fantasy become real
Oh, yeah (Will I)
Stay till the mornin', baby, rock me, girl
Like I want to rock you (Like I want to rock you) [Please] (Stay with me, baby)
Stay till the mornin', baby, let me know
That you want me too [I want to rock you, baby] (I want to rock you, baby)
Can you feel me, baby, 'cause I'm comin' from the heart
You're such a sexy lady, ooh, just tell me where to start
I'll make sweet, sweet love like you never felt before
And give you so much more, hey, hey
[When you need a friend] I will come to you
[You just tell me when] Girl, that's all you got to do
[Let me be your man] I will be your pleasure
[Anytime] Anytime (Anytime you need)
Stay till the mornin', baby, rock me, girl
Like I want to rock you (Ooh, don't you want to stay with me, girl) [Do you want to stay]
Stay till the mornin', baby (Yeah), let me know
That you want me too (Ooh, girl, I want you to stay with me, yeah)
Stay till the mornin', baby, rock me, girl
Like I want to rock you (In the mornin', in the evenin', and all night long)
Stay till the mornin', baby (Oh), let me know
That you want me too [I want you] (I want to rock you, baby) [Don't you want me too]
I'll save you from the highest mountain (The highest mountain)

The Temptations's song "Stay" is a passionate plea for a lover to stay the night and explore their love in the candlelight. The opening lines of the song set the tone for the rest of the lyrics as the lead vocalist croons "Just to feel your body, your sensual desire / You know my heart goes crazy when your tender lips touch mine." The singer is completely enamored with his lover and wants to spend the night making sweet love to her. He asks her to stay "till the mornin'" and rock him like he wants to rock her.
Throughout the song, the singer reassures his lover that he will always be there for her and will be her friend and pleasure whenever she needs. He asks if she believes in the miracle of love and if she would try to be with him because he's the one she's dreaming of. The chorus repeats the plea for his lover to stay with him and rock him like he wants to rock her.
The song is a classic example of The Temptations's signature soulful and romantic style. The smooth vocals and harmonies blend perfectly with the sensual lyrics to create a captivating and unforgettable love song. It's a song that speaks to the deepest longings of the human heart and captures the essence of true love.

Ok, you people really need to read the WHOLE description. I'm sorry but I'm getting tired of getting notifications of people trying to "correct" me on whose singing lead. I said it has shared leads but at the end I clearly state that Theo Peoples is on lead. Just because you have to read a little bit more doesn't mean its not there. Read it, thats what its there for..
