The trio was established in February 2000 during a series of concerts in Stockholm and a recording of Don Cherry-compositions that was released in Sweden by the label Crazy Wisdom/Universal. Melding German, British and American traditions of free music, their repertoire has later been collected from various sources such as James Blood Ulmer, Frank Lowe, PJ Harvey, White Stripes, Lightning Bolt and Joe McPhee. McPhee was also a participating musician on the "She Knows..." album (2001).
"Garage" was released on the Smalltown Superjazzz label in 2004. An EP of live material performed with Joe McPhee and Cato Salsa Experience was released in 2005, as well as a live album.

This song makes me cry almost every time, I love it so much. Why? I'll explain.

Shadow comes off as 'edgy' or 'emo', and I see how the initial introduction of his character looks like that. But having negative emotions and being 'emo' aren't the same thing.
Shadow's a character with a lot of weight on his shoulders, being titled as The Ultimate Life Form and having the fate of the world set in his hands many a time. He never asked for that, yet he carries that weight like a champ. An unrelenting, determined, sometimes confused man who always does what's right in the end.

This song shows he's broken, but chooses to push aside the hurt and not let it affect his life choices when it comes down to the final hour.

To quote a fantastic artist from DeviantArt, he is a 'Hero with a heart of gold'. Because no matter how cruel the world is to him, he's gonna save the day at the end of it all.

Love you Shadz, keep on keepin' on. My biggest inspiration to continue on through everything.

For anyone interested on why this was cut, Danny Parker of A2 shed some light: This was originally supposed to be the Neutral-Hero theme. Jun Senoue wanted to use this, and all the band members were in agreement except the singer, Wylie B. They couldn't track him down to get his permission to use it. What a lot of people don't know is that Sins of a Divine Mother and A2 contain some of the same band members. Danny was the producer and sound mixer of both while Kyle B. was the bassist for both. Danny described Sins as a separate studio project to A2. So when they couldn't let Jun use Broken, Danny and Kyle suggested making an original song based on the game's storyline, with a similar vibe to Broken. That ended up being Chosen One, and the rest is history. Personally while I think Chosen One is cool, I like Broken just a little bit more.

I honestly think they should give Shadow another chance. Shadow the Hedgehog wasn't fantastic, but to me, it isn't as terrible as others say it is. The shooting was surprisingly good. The speed could be better and the level design could be better too. Get rid of the mission system. Make the endings matter. Then there you go, you got yourself a good Shadow game.

I think the missions and multiple ending were the best part of the game, it added a lot to the replayability. Just going for the true ending alone could meant playing through ten different paths, paths that were insanely flexible (the game over 300 different endings!)

Caden Does Gaming Update the graphics, make vehicles useful and fun, give Shadow better attacks, and add a fifth ending song. Maybe fix plot holes, rework the Chaos System, and update level design to fix issues like having to attack your allies. Also make Expert Mode easier to unlock. And add a Boss Rush mode! You could even give the campaign optional multiplayer.

It breaks my heart SO much seeing what Shadow had gone through people telling him that he's the only hope left to save humanity and the world and being called the "Ultimate Lifeform". Than he finds out that he has Black Arm DNA in him. He gets beat down and threated by the General of GUN because he thought Shadow killed Maria (his best friend). Falling from earth and some time later being put in stasis for 50 years. But even when Shadow woke up and lost his memory he got it back and after finally coming to terms with what he is and what he stands for he decides to save humanity and the world to keep his promise to Maria. Even after saving the world he still has that weight on his shoulders and like you said he "chooses to push ahead" and never turn back despite all the pain and misery he has/is going through he will always be there to help save someone or the world when it needs it know matter what because that's what he was created for and keeping his promise to Maria. Love you Shadow SO much know matter what keep pushing through the pain and keep being (in my opinion) the best and most amazing Sonic character.

Sonic The Hedgehog is a series that has explored so many avenues and accommodated some of the most flexible of motifs and gimmicks. Because the story of Adventure 1 and 2 was progressing the way it did, the whole gun thing never bothered me. It might not be something I would take in every Sonic game, but I only took the game as simply "the next chapter" of the series and that guns were only part of that story. Due to the move towards the more darker tones that Adventure 2 brought us, it just somehow worked and I credit SEGA with that a lot. Without the hordes of Sonic fans complaining about it all because they feel they "should", I think "Shadow the Hedgehog" is a more respectable game to the better part of the fanbase than what it looks online.

well wonder if this will be read after that long but it's funny how newest game "Forces" wanted to hit darker tones too, the full fledged war against Eggman, the guns coming back in form of Wispons which are simply Wisp powered guns, but fails when it comes to keep that, like sonic tortured for 6 moths.., but hes perfectly fine once we free him... Sonic is captured an world needs new hero, in form of our Avatar... and our 1st mission is to free sonic... just lame i think that Shadows game was much better attempt at saying darker and more serious story, as it dose it, even if it tries to pointlessly branch it, to give us true ending after seeing all fake ones.. also gives so much development to Shadow as character, showing that even if Maria was quite boring character on her own, lost of her changed Shadow drastically, fleshing out that there is a lot more to this edgy boy than his proud attitude and tones of boasts about his power.

As a person who struggles with harm OCD (The need to inflict pain on oneself in different ways, then have to do it even more in worse/different ways for reassurance) these lyrics really do connect with me. To me personally, the combat was boring, the characters kept talking longer than they probably should've done, and the music wasn't good. I did like the artwork tho, not of the characters, but of the worlds, the worlds were beautiful. Each to their own opinion tho :)

Sonic Boom is the worst thing to come out of the Sonic franchise. Say all you want about 06, but at least 06 had glimmers of a good game, Boom had nothing. The plot was shit, humor was shit, gameplay was shit, AND EVEN THE MUSIC WAS SHIT, that's saying a lot since pretty much every Sonic game has good music, even the bad ones. The game had nothing that made Sonic good to begin with, it had no speed, no catchy tunes, no cool or familiar set pieces, shitty new designs, and not even god damn Chaos Emeralds. While the show is alright, I still don't see it as a "Sonic" show, but it is good on it's own rights.

Well i think that if that song could make it's way to another shadow game he would need to run strong character development, i mean this song fits hm, but in way ppl don't see him, he is indeed a broken man who was pushed aorund by life and lost a lot, but he seems to still haven't gone over his loss, still stuck in anger phase not able to push onward to acceptance, also just being honest guns used by Shadow feel like... why for ?, he has all his chaos abilities, allowing him to deal with his foes more efficient than with all this junk, i mean even for Sonic they could make more sense as besides homing attack he don't have any other serious ranged techniques but still, ditch that junk and let Shadow be badass for his own, not being a copycat of Hollywood badasses.

If you think about it, this song is Shadow to a "T": a being whose thoughts were corrupted by his creator, whose only friend (someone he might have never met) was shot dead in front of him, and who was seen as enough of a threat to humanity that he was locked up for 50 years. Hard not to think of him as a broken creature, destined to never truly be happy.

I think it would've been awesome if this song was in the game it really fits Shadow i don't care what people say about this game i love it i think its awesome sure i think the altranate endings should've been different from each other and not have felt the same. But, I still have fun with this game and i would put the game in and play it even though i already did all the missions. Its still very sad on how GUN just killed Maria when she was just innocent and kind hearted and Shadow had to watch :( I can see why he has a strong dislike to humans.

When it comes to the games in the series... they're some I like, even if I think there's better stuff too (The games are EXTREMELY underrated, they complain about everything that's good with them) But with the music... man, it's sweet. Man this brings back memories! Today I can tell the game definitely has its flaws, but back then I was just enamored by the idea of shadow having his own stand alone game. When I got it for my birthday I played the heck out of it! Even if it's flawed it has a special place in my life!

For anyone else like me who desperately wants to learn the main riff on guitar, i figured it out in drop c tuning (also there are no tabs of it online)

"Middle C string: 2.3.2 then f string 5" (repeat 3 times then next part)

Then for the last part, its only on the c string and its 2. 3, 5 then slide 3 to 2 and there u go

I know a lot of people didn’t really care for this game all that much and although it’s not one of my favorites by any stretch of the imagination, I still think that this was still in the era where Shadow’s character was the best. It is so weird of me to say this but I think that Sonic 06 was the greatest his character had ever been and it’s a shame that his story hasn’t really been expanded past that. Shadow will always be my favorite character and the original thoughts and ideas that went into making him are so unique. I hope one day they’ll bring this kind of Shadow back.

If they fleshed out this game a bit more, it'd probably be hailed today for being a crummy game with a great story.
Shadow had some pretty nice character development through the series. I appreciate what Sega tried; they wanted a more mature character to appeal to older fans. Sure, they probably could have done better, but I try to remember Shadow for his good moments, not his bad ones.

For those who are curious about the reason this song wasn't used and who this band even was:

The reason this track wasn't used is because The Lead Singer of Sins of a Divine Mother didn't agree to it, and by the time the game was released The Band disappeared and SEGA couldn't contact them in time, so they got Mona Lisa Overdrive (A2) to record "Chosen One" for the game, and Sins of a Divine Mother is a side project of A2.

What's interesting to note is all three bands (Sins, A2, and Julien-K) are all in someway related to Linkin Park, all three are side projects of the band Orgy, which is a band Linkin Park helped produce a record.
