The three subsequently sang together, in concerts produced by Hungarian Tibor Rudas and others, at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles for the 1994 World Cup finals, at the Champs de Mars, below the Eiffel Tower in Paris during France '98 and in Yokohama during the 2002 tournament. They have also played in other cities around the world, usually performing in stadiums or other large outdoor venues.

Second hand hose
All the girls hand me
Their second hand clothes
Even my pajamas when I darn 'em
Have somebody else's
Initials on 'em
Second hand rings
I never get what other girlies do
Once while strolling
Through the ritz a girl got my goat
She nudged her friend
And said oh look there goes
My old fur coat
I don't believe in
Frettin' and grievin'
Why mess around with strife
I never was caught out
To step and strut out
Give me the simple life
Some find a pleasant dining on pheasants
Those things roll off my comb
Just serve me tomatoes
And mashed potatoes
Any place I hang my hat is home
Oh, I got plenty o' nothin'
And nothin's plenty for me
I got no car, I got no mule
I got no misery
Don't you see
I got no lock on my door
That's okay with me
Cause the things that I prize
Like the stars in the skies are all free
I got plenty o' nothin'
And nothin's plenty for me
Once I built a railroad
Made it run,
Made it race
Against time
Once I built a railroad
Now it's done
Brother can you spare a dime?
Say don't you remember
They called me al
It was al all the time
Say don't you remember
I'm your pal
Buddy can you spare a dime?
Nobody knows you
When you're down and out
In your pocket's
Not one penny
And your friends
Well, you haven't any
Soon as you get on your feet again
Everybody
Everybody
Is your long lost friend
It's mighty strange
Without a doubt
But nobody knows you
When you're down and out
Oh every one knows
That I'm just second hand rose
From second avenue
Ya can't beat the egg-creams
From second avenue
There is more between me
And fifth avenue
Than three blocks
I tell ya
Second avenue
The flowers in spring
The robins that sing
The sun beam that shines
They're yours, they're mine
And love can come to anyone
Because the best things in life are free
The lyrics to The Three Tenors' song Maria/Tonight combines several songs together. The first part of the song narrates the struggles of the singer who has been subjected to a second-hand lifestyle. The singer talks about his second-hand shoes, hose, clothes, and even pajamas. The singer mentions that he is contented with his simple lifestyle and doesn't fret or grieve about the things he doesn't have. He further on talks about living his simple life and being contented with free things. The refrain "Any place I hang my hat is home," suggests that he is just happy living a simple life.
The second part of the song talks about the struggles of life and how people's demeanor towards one quickly changes when one is down and out. The singer speaks about being a long lost friend and the strangeness surrounding that situation. The vocalist advises that the best things in life are free and anyone can fall in love, regardless of their status or material wealth. The song is essentially about finding joy in simple pleasures and living a comfortable life without the need for material wealth.

CARRERAS e PAVAROTTI vozes divinas abençoada por DEUS , os tenores maravilhosos e imbatíveis, deram um excelente show na execução deste concerto. Bravos maestros PAVAROTTI e CARRERAS esplêndidas vozes.

They're all amazing, and by far the best out of all. They all have their strengths and weaknesses. But truthfully, does it matter? Yeah, Pavarotti knows how to belt it, and Placido has a very sophisticated tone and Carreras has a sweet sound, but they're all amazing and that's what matters. I love this medley, one of my favorites by them.
