Millionaire
The Tiger Lillies Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
He's 'orrible and unkind
Baby is just a millionaire
and he will rob you blind
And he'll have you on Monday
He'll have you on Tuesday
He'll have you on Wednesday as well
Baby is just a millionaire
He's got gold taps on his bathroom suite
Baby is just a millionaire
He's 'orrible and he's neat
And he'll have you on Thursday
He'll have you on Friday
Saturday and Sunday as well
Baby is just a millionaire
Didn't baby do well
Baby is just a millionaire
And Baby is going to Hell
Yeah, baby is going to Hell
Baby is going to Hell
The song “Millionaire” by The Tiger Lillies is a haunting and eerie tune about a man named Baby who is a millionaire. The lyrics depict Baby as a cruel and unkind individual who would do whatever it takes to increase his wealth. The line “and he will rob you blind” indicates that Baby would exploit whoever is in his vicinity to get richer.
The next verse paints a picture of Baby's obsessive habits of robbing people. He is so relentless that he would have people robbed every day of the week, including Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. This makes him a man to fear and dread.
The next verse reveals more about Baby's character. He has a luxurious bathroom suite with gold taps, indicating that he spends lavishly on himself. Nonetheless, he remains “orrible,” which means he is unpleasant and unlikeable. Finally, the chorus suggests that Baby's greed and selfishness have already sealed his fate, and he is going to Hell - a fitting destination for such a ruthless individual.
